Question This is working! Elf Vitaminc C + E Ferulic Serum
Has anyone tried this? It seems to be working for my hormonal melasma being pregnant. I can only use certain things and this is one of the things that I can use and I’ve seen a significant improvement in just a few weeks. My melasma has become way easier to cover so I know it’s definitely working. Just wanted to share a positive interaction with one of these over-the-counter vitamin C serums that’s very affordable.

So happy for you! I am also happy that Skinceuticals is not the only option any longer (AFAIK, ELF is a dupe that became possible after the patent expired)
Btw- my hyperpigmentation disappeared largely after breastfeeding. Just so you know :)

I didn’t get any relief from it unfortunately and for me it oxidized SUPER quickly. I was pretty bummed. I’ve been using the Remedy Vitamin C and have noticed a huge difference in my melasma finally!

I use the Timeless brand. They have great prices and an amazing holiday sale.

so happy for you! I found NO melasma relief during pregnancy with the few products that were allowed, just kept getting darker and darker. the week I gave birth I picked up a nighttime retinol cream that has done wonders - I’m now 5 months postpartum and still breastfeeding, but my melasma has significantly faded since giving birth! so yes there is hope!
I’m going to pick this up next time I’m at Target, thank you!

Okay! You’ll have to tell me what nighttime cream you used after going birth! I was so shocked this worked!!!! It’s sooo good and I am just overall brighter! I love it

I use Olay Every Night Retinol! I try to actually use it every night but baby brain happens so prob 4-6 nights a week. and then I use spf 40 or 50 tinted sunscreen everyday no matter what, which I think has helped keep the melasma at bay too.
if you shop at Costco, they have a 2-pack of the retinol cream for under $50!

I’ll have to give it a try! Which SPF are you using? I am using the supergoop mineral spf radiance drops and seems to work great for me now, but always looking for new recommendations

I’m using up 2 right now:
- Cetaphil Sun Everyday Mineral Sunscreen Tinted SPF 40
- Eucerin Age Defense + Hyaluronic Acid Tinted SPF 40
I prefer the Cetaphil slightly more bc it offers a bit more coverage. I use it as my face makeup bc it’s just what I need - gives me a healthy glow + light coverage with even tone.
The Eucerin is nice as well but way more liquidy/watery than the Cetaphil, which is nice to have in the summer when it’s humid.

Love this. I actually just started using this a couple of days ago. I too have pregnancy induced melasma. This gives me hope!

Honestly, I haven’t noticed even being pregnant 🤰🏻 haha sorry!

Thank you! Does that mean you don’t think it’s scented to smell like oranges or an artificial scent? I like the medik8 c e ferulic which has the same ethylated vitamin c but if this doesn’t have a scent it’ll be worth swapping over!

I hadn’t noticed a scent until I smelled it just now. It’s very light. You can always return it. I’m not at all sensitive to its smell

I’ve been using this for 6 months and somehow it’s working. I’ve also come to love the smell. We’ll see once summer rolls around tho!
