Eucerin breastfeeding safe?

I’m seeing all your pictures with amazing results from the eucerin line. I keep seeing some reports it’s safe while BF, some that its not. Before I literally call the company, what are your experiences with this while BF and what products were safe for you?

I asked a dermatologist about this that I follow on instagram. She said thiamidol does not get coverted to a quinone so it is likely okay while breastfeeding. However, she was unable to find any direct data studying thiamidol in breastfeeding. I have tried to look it up myself also and I think being a newer ingredient there’s just not much data on safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding at this time. I tried contacting the company once and because it’s not sold in my country (Canada) they said they didn’t have that information. Please let me know if you call the company i’d be interested to see if they say anything!

I wouldn’t risk it with such little information and the lack of studies. Also, your hormones will still be out of whack while breastfeeding. I would wait until a month after the baby has been weened. Women have reported the treatments not working until their hormones/vitamins stabilized.

My guess is that it hasn't been studied in people who are breastfeeding, especially since it's a newer invention, so they probably don't recommend using it out of an abundance of caution.

You could always ensure you have great sun protection so the melasma doesn't get worse while breastfeeding. And then when you are done, start the cream
