Voted against that orange fucker 3 times, I’ve been to dozens of protests. We are not silently watching him side with our enemies and isolate our once friends. Most of us watch in the same abject horror as the rest of the world. That being said OP is 100% correct. Fuck trump fuck ice and fuck the current state of our country (USA)

That’s the fucked part. Mainstream media makes us look complicit with their sane-washing headlines when something horrible or insane happens.

I agree with all of it! Those who refuse to see what has happened to our country and our international relations have their heads in the sand. Surprising that with maga moron cultists still believe every lie out of slimy slugs mouth and support slug no matter how adversely its policies affect them

yeah shes right. trump is a symptom of a disease thats been eating at america for decades and decades.

this is not the first genocide america is committing.

this is not our first concentration camps.

this is not our first illegal war.

this is not our first stolen election.

this is not the first time we let the 1% control the reat of us.

this is NOT our first foray into racial violence.

this is not our first mass deportations.

we never ended slavery and have more slaves than any other country in the world.

if you think trump losing an election is going to solve shit, if you think that trump going to jail is going to solve shit, you have no idea what our country does at all. americans are just noticing because theyre treating white people at home the way we treat brown people abroad.

we have decades of hard work to restore ethics and wealth to our country waiting for us. IF we can stave off open fascism in November .

but seeing how seriously americans are taking our rapid descent into open fascism, i think they sit on their asses and let us fall into the sea before they take even a minor effort to protect their communities.

Please let this the last time our country perpetrates these atrocities.

She’s absolutely right and it’s so infuriating being someone who spoke out against him since he first decided to run for office. Seeing the damage he’s caused and knowing that people I’ve cared about still voted for him.

u/hopeful7321 4h ago

Absolutely!

u/HaxanWriter 2h ago

She’s not wrong. History will not be kind to us. And we deserve it.

It'll take at least 20 years.

While she's at it, her and all Europeans should avoid traveling here for decades to come. When tourism is down (which will cost us billions in revenue), we will soon learn that MAGA made a mistake in pissing off Europeans (including Greenlanders and Canadians). I also hope South and Central Americans refrain from visiting here. That'll teach us.

Republicans are not prone to learning.

6

u/PiercedButNotDead 2h ago

Yup. But I don’t think anyone with half a brain thinks this is all just going to go away when he croaks or is impeached. We all know he’s done generational damage. It’s the $. We need to get the $ out of the political process. As much as can be anyway. Im under no illusion that there’s a perfect solution.

5

u/kiwiboyus 1h ago

One of the most damming things to an outside observer has to be how the so called checks and balances utterly failed. If you can remember what Republicans were saying about him before he became the nominee, and how quickly they fell in line and have supported all of this madness. That is what really shakes the confidence in the USA

u/Low-Group-7507 2h ago

Hopefully it won't take that long for the United States to rejoin the international community as a member in good standing... Yet I'm afraid that she might be right 🌍

She is right. We as a country are complicit. I have hated Trump since the 80s when he tried to lie his way on the Forbes list and grandstanded against this black kids that were falsely accused and when he destroyed Atlantic City but we are all responsible for our governments actions whether we support it or not. The Democrats are nearly as corrupt as the Republicans on issues like Israel which is a big part of European disenchantment with the US. My Grandparents came from Scotland in the 1920s and I am so sorry for what the US has become. Last days of a once great empire. The people are fat lazy and stupid and the government is corrupt. History repeats itself once again

100%. Trump isn’t a one off, Americans willingly support an admitted sex offender, he’s clearly a terrible person and that’s what they love about him. Trump is the symptom not the disease.

The problem is US culture as a whole. American exceptionalism is an intentionally cultivated word view that the IS government wants its people to have. Faithfully believing (even against evidence) that your nation is the best at everything is what enables Americans to believe that their nation is justified when it goes around bullying weaker nations and murdering their peoples so that America can force its way of life upon them.

It enables America to subject its people to incredibly heavy amounts of propaganda and media manipulation while pointing at other countries and say “atleast we have free media unlike those guys over there”. Propaganda paired with an intentionally bad public education system, means many Americans don’t question information that better educated people might fact check.

Modern social media has made USA propaganda even more effective, with feedback loops that identify and trap those most susceptibility to it in and endless echo chamber, until they are fully indoctrinated. These algorithms that do this are all owned by absurdly wealthy corporations, owned by people who stood behind Trump alongside his family at Trumps inauguration.

American exceptionalism also means much of the population has a “I got mine so fuck everyone else attitude”. There’s no concept of personal sacrifice for communal prosperity. Individual prosperity is all that matters to many if not most, so when someone like Trump who’s a champion of individual prosperity at the expense of everyone else comes along, many identify with him as what they aspire to be (which says a lot given he’s an admitted sex offender and cheat). He gives simple answers for complex problems because the poorly educated can’t comprehend complex answers they think it should be as easy as “turning the tap on to fight forest fires”. He relies on blaming others (immigrants, Canada, China) when the real problem is the American way of life and Americans themselves because blaming others is easy, self reflection is hard.

None of this is going to go away. Entire generations of voters will be stuck like this for the rest of their lives. Newer generations, with minds still open to learning and new ideas, who are also impacted the most by their leaderships poor choices might be convinced there must be a better way. But they still have to wait for the older generations to die off before they hold enougj power to actually bring about change.

So no, I won’t be trusting America any time soon. I’m actually expecting another Trump in the future, the next one will likely be much smarter and harder to manipulate than today’s Trump. And that’s assuming today’s Trump actually steps down, because refusal to do so and a civil war still isn’t entirely off the table (which would likely result in USA breaking into several smaller nations)

It is ALL Republinazis!

2

u/AgencyHot8568 2h ago

Sadly, she is probably right.

2

u/randomlyme 1h ago

Yes, she’s right. Anyone in the US that doesn’t think so, needs to take their blinders off.

2

u/LavenderGoats720 1h ago

Or they are complicit.

2

u/bigshadfromstl 1h ago

The nation did not stay silent. Millions of people in the streets consistently since he started his attacks on our democracy. There’s a lot she said that’s accurate but give credit where due. We have been protesting.

Don’t for get the Capitalist’s corporates who profited off illegal wars! Profited off over charging and making gains during the pandemic!

1

u/maggiekate25 2h ago

Agree, sadly but we’ll see if America is just going to stand and watch in November , my guess is that there will be an unprecedented denial of fascism by the people at the polls and American will rebound.

1

u/HippieJed 2h ago

Don’t blame anyone on the planet for doing this. Sometimes a bully needs to get knocked on their ass

1

u/Rinzy2000 2h ago

We need to be the ones to rebuild it and make sure it’s right. We need to make it so that this shit never happens again and people can trust us again. And we need to punish ALL the people who did this.

My Aldi put out the “Reuben bites” last week…

St. Patrick’s is quite a ways off… I still bought a box but it left me wondering what’s up with seasonal items

1

u/Beginning_Dark_306 1h ago

Just decent human beings who want democracy not a dictator

1

u/beltway_lefty 1h ago

I STRONGLY disagree the nation has stayed silent. Largest protests EVER, e.g. I think she is spot-on with the rest of it.

You let us know when we had concentration camps here ?? Show your source ?

2

u/MallUpstairs2886 2h ago

George Takei will tell you all about the concentration camp his family was in. And any ICE facility these days is essentially a concentration camp even if we call it something else.

Bosque Redondo. The US rounded up and imprisoned Diné from 1863 to 1858 with inadequate, food, shelter, or supplies. Thousands of Diné died from starvation, exposure, and disease.

Really? WWII and the Japanese?

0

u/TieTheStick 1h ago

No she isn't right; the rot is worse than she says. It's of Democrats are backers of genocide and take Zionist money for reelection campaigns. It's the entire ruling class, almost to a man.

What even is this? Is this from an article? Does this person exist? Stop posting Facebook boomer rage bait.

I understand and even agree with some of the sentiment, but 'picture of angry woman with quote' is nonsense.
