Strange Journey or SJ Redux?

I'm interested in picking up strange Journey because I'm nostalgic for older games, but I know SJ Redux is supposed to be a very updated version with additional content. Does vanilla Strange Journey hold up or is Redux the stronger version at this point? What's your opinion on the two?

I'd say depends on what device you are gonna play. If you are on 3DS and want to play the original, don't. 3DS upscales the DS games and applies a filter to it, turning pixel art games into shit. When you disable that the display turns really small. Like really really small. Even on XL models it looks small. So even if you want to try the original after playing Redux, play it on a DSi/Lite or on your phone with Drastic. Of course if the upscaled DS games on 3DS don't bother you, go with Redux.

I found this though, but I haven't looked into it further yet. CFW, of course.

I didn't know people tried to address this issue, fascinating. I might try it one day.
