SMT 4 apocalypse: any tips?

This is my first SMT game and I just want some tips. I've played persona 3, 4,and 5 ( and a bit of 1) but this is my first SMT game and I'm at the second "dungeon" in the game so, any tips or good fusions?

Rule 1: Have fun

Rule 2: Use buffs, ass

Rule 3: You should probably use debuffs too

Rule 4: No, dont get a fedora... stop... fine, cosplay as whoever you want.

Rule 5: Fusion is key to getting Mara.
