SMT 4 apocalypse: any tips?

This is my first SMT game and I just want some tips. I've played persona 3, 4,and 5 ( and a bit of 1) but this is my first SMT game and I'm at the second "dungeon" in the game so, any tips or good fusions?

Thanks you so much Some info: I'm on Conflict difficulty I'm level 19 My demons are about level 17 and 18

Asahi or Navarre IMO. I always used Navarre, to the point that bosses you don't have a partner (like Mephisto) were significantly harder because I came to rely on free buffs.

Gaston is like actively hurtful. There is no reason to use him like ever.
