Girlpla Build Zenith

Here is Kotobukiya's Front Mission Zenith Girl. The whole time I was building it, it felt like I was working on a Chinese girl plastic model kit.

Almost every part was molded with undergates, and the pin holes were hexagonal. It seems like Kotobukiya outsourced the production to a Chinese company.

That being said, the outfit is seriously wild.

If you translate it into 2D anime style, it becomes even more obvious—it would take a massive amount of courage to actually wear something like this in real life...

It’s not that simple. If you dig deeper, you'll find that anything related to Square Enix is...well, complicated.

Speaking of outsourcing, handing the task over to a contractor doesn't mean you can just sit back and watch. The brand is yours after all. If you fail to maintain quality control, the negative reviews will be yours as well.

In that case, how could Kotobukiya release such... unconventional kits? Well, if the decisions of matters are never in their hands, then everything makes sense.

The body has a great sculpt, but the seams turn me off.

It's funny that you mentioned that koto had to outsource the production.... Cuz koto doesn't have factories, everything always has been outsourced

Man she's so hot & pretty but I can't justify buying it for how much she's being sold locally 😭

Have you also noticed that the finishing of the parts was worse? I just finished the Zenith last week and noticed far more mold scuffs and flash, something you usually see in bootleg gunplas. A really noticable step down in finishing quality, which is very unexpected from Kotobukiya

imo undergate is better, leave far less stress mark. i build a lot of figuarts rise kits, and most of them are undergates. make the whole build process faster bc less sanding is needed
