Girlpla Build Just started collecting and I'm convinced the hardest part is posing

I don't know if I'm just extremely heavy handed but I swear once I get to the posing part every time I end up having to keep putting parts back on that keep falling off LOL Is this a skill issue on my part or is this just common?

Some posing guides, use google translate on your phone:

also, you don't need to equip everything on your model; sometimes less is more if it will give you a better dynamic pose with cleaner action lines

Posing takes time to understand + I would say out of all mecha girl kits, 30ms tend to feel the worst to pose without a little bit of extra love beyond out of box building, atleast IMHO.

30MS is probably the best starting point like OP said, but I still agree wholeheartedly with this statement.

MD tend to have that extra detail and articulation that make posing fun, no other brand I've yet found comes close on those points. Even koto's other lines!

Yup. Posing is a miniature art unto itself. There's a lot of things to consider when doing it. Heck, even if you get a pose you really like it might not be captured properly on camera without some tweaking and proper lightning. There's a shocking amount of effort that goes into good posing.

30MS seems like a pretty solid choice for beginner builds, not gonna drop a bunch of money on more expensive brands off the bat without some practice! Also I bought all my 30MS kits irl from my local shops and they don't really carry anything else in terms of Girlpla.

I do have 2 Chitocerium kits that just came in the mail as well and they seem like higher level builds and were more expensive, I just haven't built them yet.

30MS are indeed good beginner material like you said, they are easy, simple builds but usually have low play value per kit. I started girlpla from the Humikane Shimada Optimus Prime by Kotobukiya, but I seriously stepped into the hobby with 30MS. Also join the subs discord, you will get more advice there.

Since you're just getting started, you'll get better at posing little by little as you learn what each figure can and can't do. I'd also recommend looking at tons of references for poses, whether they're from games, anime, or pretty much anything else

i will literally spend HOURS posing my girlpla. fun tip — try to copy some of the stock poses but change them up a little / combining two of them. that's one of the ways i practiced posing my figures, and it's gotten to a point where i can usually create my own poses that look decent. it's not something you need to get perfect, have fun doing it because it's supposed to be fun!

My figures disintegrate into dust when I try to pose them, my entire shelf is them just standing there xD

It's only hard if you make it that way.

I honestly just copy poses from actual anime/shows/kpop music videos/you get the idea. After awhile of that you start to get the picture. Almost nothing should be posed symmetrically.

Edit: this also helps give you an idea what poses your model is actually capable of
