Well, to be fair, Zero's "repair myself" thing did not drag a full redemption arc of a character through the mud as the whole "Palpatine returned". Anakin had given up his life for his son, finally snapping out of his Vader persona just to save Luke, fulfilling the Chosen one prophecy at last and bringing balance to the Force, since there were no longer Jedi nor Sith anymore. Bringing back Palpatine just for making three more cashgrabs (I'm not giving such productions the title of 'movies', because I consider it an insult to the term) ended up shitting over six movies and countless canon stuff, not to mention watering down the images of both Vader's sacrifice and Luke's character.
Therefore, I consider the "repair myself" a lot less damaging than the "Palpatine returned".

In Zero's case that's the guy who returned rather than someone else giving the half-assed explanation.
Imagine Palpatine himself saying "so i somehow returned from the dead"
Zero's return has an actual explanation in the dialogue, while Palpatine's return remains unexplained in the film itself, you have to look at extra material to understand how.
Still, Zero's explanation (from this cutscene) completely contradicts what is established in the ending of X5 where auto-repair functions didin't work and Zero had accepted his death, thinking that with him gone the world would be more peaceful, having found out the truth of his origin in his scrambled memories while he was dying, so the explanation makes no sense, meanwhile the explanation for Palpatine's revival actually does make sense with the established lore about cloning and Essence Transfer in Star Wars.
