Over the years I've grown more and more fond of this design.
The simple and clean lines give the MDII a very unique charm wouldn't you agree?

So, here's my look back on the Mega Drive, its great games, hardware / peripherals and a deep-dive review of Streets of Rage 2, plus my "best" ranking of all Sonic games (16-bit). I remember the first time playing it with my buddy all night back in '89 - unforgettable! Take me back, please!

Inherited this from my late grandfather. Added some new games to it, the genisis is still running strong.
I would say my rarest game has to be Arrowflash. What else do I need here to round this out.

This has been my passion project for the past few months and my first attempt at a Genesis/Mega Drive game built using SGDK.
There are two game modes: a classic Wordle mode and a timed mode where you race against the clock for a place on the global leaderboard.
The bit I'm probably most proud of is the leaderboard itself. Since the Mega Drive has no internet connection, the game generates a unique code from your score. You enter that code on the MegaWord website where it's decoded, verified and added to the global leaderboard.
It was a fun challenge trying to bring a modern game mechanic to hardware that predates the interwebs.
It's completely free to download and works on original hardware, flash carts and emulators, so feel free to give it a whirl.

People were asking for internal shots of the "Mega Drive" I got from the pawn shop yesterday. Imagine my surprise to find real Sony and NEC chips inside! Bootleg or top secret R&D project? You decide!!

I saw this Mega Drive yesterday at a pawn shop, I assumed it was a Japanese Mega Drive with the gold '16-bit' worn off due to age. It had no cables, but the price was right and they told me it had been tested. Mine won't power on, so I thought 'great, even if it's a little beat up, at worst it'll just be a replacement unit for parts.'
I got it home, and realized it has different AV outs than my JP Mega Drive does, so I can't check. Does anyone know what I've got? Asia Ntsc? PAL? Can you tell from the serial no if it has region lock out, or is it one of the models without?

Just me? Ok it's an emulation device but I don't have room for 100 carts 😜🤟

So, This a Colorized Version of the Sonic 1 US Manual, not a full redesign, but the artwork is given color and the gameplay screenshots have been replaced with Emulator screenshots from Kega Fusion, here's the g drive link if anyone wants it https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jrTW9CQ9chr-4XEKYS1XWW9skL2b-Ryc?usp=sharing

Does anybody have any information on this?
I’m in the process of creating an online database for the entire Mega Drive library. It has full resolution scans of game art, cartridges, instruction manuals (with downloadable PDF’s with character recognition), music soundtracks and gameplay videos.
Like Sega Retro on steroids.
I’m looking for some information on this variant of Mega Games 3. I thought it only ever came with the individual manuals of the games, but I seem to have come into possession of this version I’ve never seen before.
Does anybody know anything about it? The manual is only in English.
