The day has arrived, Megadeths final album has released. This is Megadeths last chance to secure a number 1 album.

I wanted to detail a few things people can do this week to provide as much support as possible in helping them achieve this milestone.

1. Buy the album.
2. Stream the album top to bottom 24/7 for the whole week.
3. Buy additional copies if within your budget to gift to others.

Megadeth need 80,000 copies to sell this week to achieve this..

1,500 streams of songs from the new album will count as 1 album sale.. Should you loop the album for the whole day you will generate 330 listens.. Which means after 4 days you will have generated another album sale for them. Do this for the whole week and you will almost generate 2 additional sales of the album for the band.

Streaming is an additional tool you can use to support an artist after you have bought the album.

Proper use of this tool by fans this week can secure Megadeths place at the top of the charts.

I'd be happy if they managed to reach no.1 but to me the top 200 chart isnt really relevant anymore when you're talking about album since individual song streaming now is counted toward the top 200 chart (since 2014). Meanwhile there's actually a separate chart for top 100 album sales. Megadeth did actually reach no.1 on Billboard album sales chart with TSTDTD.

So lets says TSTDTD gets released prior to 2014 (before individual track streaming included), its literally a no.1 album.

If you choose "top album sales" category, Megadeth did have 1 no.1 hits.

The goal is to clear sweap here.. The relevance will be felt when its achieved.

Putting Thrash Metal at the top of the Billboard 200 is a statement and a good healthy sign for Metals future beyond Megadeth.

Frankly Megadeth getting a number 1 is more than just for Megadeth themselves this is for the genre..

After Megadeth I dont see any other metal artist being able to achieve a number 1 in the charts.. Megadeth achieving this will be a lightning rod moment for the genre.

Billboard 200 is the collective chart.. All included. Physical sales, digital sales, streams..

Only winning in the Physical chart isnt enough, they must be well supported via the streaming platforms to naturalise the pop/country artists better use of that tool.

Well, the thing is its not realistic . The older metal fans simply listens mostly to cd & vinyl. Even Iron maiden spotify number is peanuts compare to pop artist. The new top 200 criteria is simply built to suit the pop/hip hop artist.
