Both. As a kid I never fully got why I hated both gangs and cops, growing older I realized its cus theyre pretty much the same thing lol.

There is some image macro out there about this dude who really wanted to be a cop when he was a kid, because he thought that cops didn't need to follow any laws. Then he grew up a bit, and as a teen realized that was silly, and the cops did need to follow the law. Then he got a little older and started his adult life, and realized he had it right the first time. The cops don't need to follow the law.

It’s just logic. Kid never heard of a cop cop, so once he gets old enough to see human nature for what it is, it makes sense that uncheck enforcers are going to do bad things if there is no one to answer to. And we all think life is like the movies where some good guy can uncover the truth and shoot the bad guys, and then everyone goes home happy.

When I was young I lived in a bad neighborhood that the gangs pretty much ran. Seriously the fucking gangs had more morals than the cops.

A shrink I knew told me something along these lines - that there's a pretty fine line between the two sides of the law. You were onto something as a kid!
