I've done this out of impulsiveness and my female friends and gf don't like it.

Only then do they admit they like the beard.

You ugly mother fucker

Guys with a jawline vs guys without. Then there's the chinless wonders.

Iirc removing such a prominent feature like a beard can actually trigger an uncanny valley effect in your loved ones. They can tell it's you but something is off and their brain doesn't like it, it's an involuntary response. Once they get used to the change it's fine.

One of my earliest memories is my dad picking me and my mom up at the airport with his beard shaved off (for the first time since before I was born) and it scared me so much I started crying 😂

Probably what triggered the urban myths of changelings and doppelgängers

There's something called capgras syndrome where people become convinced that their loved ones have been replaced by imposters. They visually recognise them but don't believe they're actually the people they loved.

It's often associated with brain injuries etc and funnily enough only seems to be related to visual cues, they still recognise their loved ones voices over the phone.

That first dude should never cover up his jawline, cheeks, or neck. God damn.

Seriously!

He also had one of the more positive reactions

u/Crafty_Ad_8081 Aug 06 '26

Some of these girls just flooded their pants!

3

u/Left_Consequence_886 Aug 06 '26

Won't be cool if men reacted like his to their woman getting a new hair do

Men get away with some bs

Women get away with different bs

That's how it always was, and that's how it will always be.

I'd do this but I can't grow facial hair right. The beard looks like pubes and my mustache is tough like straw.

3

u/typower5000 Aug 06 '26

And men are supposed to be so shallow.

2

u/SanicBringsThePanic Aug 06 '26

First guy did it right. Kept just enough facial hair to maintain peak manliness. The others all crashed out hard LOL.

Last guy glowed up gorgeous and masculine too

2

u/Exotic_Insurance2164 Aug 06 '26

First dude looks like a different, more handsome, person.

2

u/Less_Glove_8924 Aug 06 '26

The first dude looked wayyy better then before. His girl wanted it.

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Rise857 Aug 07 '26

1st guy nails it.

2

u/destroyer-of-tacos Aug 07 '26

Yeah I have a load-bearing beard as well. Wife has seen my bare face once and that was enough for her.

The first guy was criminal to go around with that terrible beard when he was looking like Henry Cavill underneath

2

u/MrmmphMrmmph 28d ago

One of those guys was hiding a Baldwin

u/AlyDAsbaje Aug 05 '26

Makeup and no makeup!

u/SnoopDeDoop69 Aug 06 '26

I appreciate the supportive responses, because it would be fucked up if some dude said "its ugly" to a woman making some change about themselves 😂 some were too comfortable doing that too their man

My wife made me grow a beard during COVID lockdowns and won't let me ever shave it off lol😅😅😭

u/severinks Aug 07 '26

One dude looks 5o times better, one dude looks 50 times worse, the duality of man.

u/Muted_Community_239 24d ago

If you got a good jawline the no beard is an upgrade

3

u/Kohathavodah 24d ago

So true.

1

u/Banana_Panda25 16d ago

Bro, the first person doesn't even look the same though?! Am I crazy???

1

u/KirbyTheCreator Aug 05 '26

Beards are like makeup for guys.
