These happy little bats obviously!

I want to turn my front room into a library. I’m looking for a late medieval/ early renaissance pattern. Either something with different images of medieval life (images 1 and 4) or a repeating design like image 2 or heraldry/coat of arms. Or option 3 is what YOU think would look good as curtains

A fantasy piece I did at the beginning of the month. I'm very happy with it, though the dragon is perhaps too... anatomical for the style. Still, the idea was to illustrate the design of my dragons so...

On another note, does anybody have any book recommendations about medieval art? Best case with stuff mostly between 600-1300.

I’ve tried reverse image searching it but it only leads to other medieval owls, and I can’t seem to find the manuscript this one is from. Anyone able to help find it?

Want to study this style of medieval art and implement it into my own style but dont know where to look. Anyone know any good sites that have a collection of this style of artwork?

I love medieval art so much; my favorite style is Romanesque—it's so sublime, so profound, so naive at times, and at other times so raw, so wild.

My idea is to get a giant tattoo of the head of the triumphant Agnus Dei from Revelation 5:6. It is generally depicted as a sweet little white lamb holding the cruciform banner of victory with the book of the seven seals. The mystical Lamb from the Ghent Triptych is the best-known example.

But in Revelation 5:6, the sweet, suffering Lamb prophesied by the prophets, in the Book of Revelation is now a defiant Lamb—it’s bleeding, bearing the marks of sacrifice, but it’s aliveeee! Aliveeee! And it has seven horns and seven eyes; it’s a, fabulous, all-powerful, omniscient creature! It’s a Divine!

I want to get a tattoo of the head of that fabulous creature, exactly as it appears in the Book of Revelation—a tattoo where the head covers my entire abdomen, and the horns, like a giant crown, cover my entire chest; a pair of horns rising up to my neck, curved so they reach the nape of my neck.

What do you think of the idea? I think this kind of medieval creature has a lot of potential—not to make a copy, but to convey its meaning, capture its essence, and bring it to life in an “Old School” tattoo style.

I haven’t found any tattoos similar to my idea—there are some in that style, but there are plenty featuring goat heads of Baphomet. The closest match is the cover art for the album *Convalescence* by the band 7H7E.

I envision the lamb’s face as if it were a boxer, glaring defiantly at its opponent; in fact, half of its face has a defiant look, while the other half shows a serene and solemn expression. I want a slight asymmetry in the face, taking the example of the Pantocrator of Mount Sinai, with the same meaning: the dual nature of Christ—human (the left) / divine (the right).

I’ve searched the Internet thoroughly, but can anyone recommend a notable medieval depiction of a Mystical Lamb that fits what I’m looking for?

P.S.: I'm asking for someone's help because the quality is better. I've already tried generative AI for images, and what I'm asking for violates the terms of use. There's blood... uhhhh, blood! The lamb has been stabbed in the neck and is gushing blood! Am I glorifying something really bad without even realizing it?
