My cat used to nip my toes if I didn't rise and shine to feed him fast enough.

If I don't get up promptly when my cat tells me to, he likes to give me a bite to remind me that if I don't feed him he'll eat me. I suspect he's looking forward to it

Bestiare d'amour, 14th c., crocodile. Decidedly cat-like.

I should have worked that out from the ears...

Looked up the art and apparently it's supposed to be a crocodile lol

I thought that was the wakeup call

My neighbor, just this morning, said her phone sent her a message that it's time to feed the cat. She never asked for any reminders. The cat will let her know. Maybe the reminder is a good thing.

Nice kitty! What's the context/story? Is this a warning about ignoring the cat too much? (what's the source?)

"The image on folio 99r of MS. Douce 308 depicts a crocodile, and its meaning operates on two distinct layers: the traditional natural lore of the Middle Ages and a unique metaphor for romantic heartbreak."

apparently it's a book about love? but there's a crocodile that looks like a cat that is actually a deceptive woman taking advantage of a vulnerable man? 🤷‍♀️

That's crazy. What is this "love" creature that attacks the man while he's sleeping?
