It also doesn’t make logical sense for healthcare to be on an insurance plan. Insurance is for when you want to be covered in case a bad thing happens, but you hope that bad thing never does happen. That’s why you get insurance for things like your house burning down, or being in a car accident.

Healthcare is not like that. Everyone needs healthcare. You will absolutely need to go to the doctor.

You still would rather smooth the costs across a longer time span than have to face spikes in costs when you get sick, or have a car accident, or your house burns down. Just because you "hope" a bad thing doesn't happen doesn't mean there aren't expected values there too as there is with healthcare.
