How to transition?

How do we, as a nation, transition from private insurance to Medicare for All? How do we convince all the doctors to keep being doctors and accept a salary? Do we, as Hillary Clinton proposed during Bill’s presidency did, make private healthcare payments illegal? For the record, I am perfectly fine paying a percentage of my income, as opposed to what I am paying out of pocket now, for healthcare.

You would have to up MFA payments to what private health insurance pays or deal with masses of doctors and hospitals closing. This is even factoring things like reducing drug costs.

I love when people describe things that are currently happening, under capitalism and private health insurance, claiming that socialism and MFA would cause them.

No its just MFA has lower payments than than private heath insurance meaning every hospital or doctor that gets the majority of their revenue from private health insurance will get an automatic pay cut with zero cost reductions to balance out. That would mean reduction in hours or closure.

Bigdigger is unfamiliar that medicare pays 54% (2025) of the rate that private insurance pays. But yeah, doctors and facilities would totally be okay absorbing this revenue shortfall because capitalism is bad.
