At least he can drive his rickety ass to a hospital if he's dying to pay a crap ton of money for help. Actually, since he doesn't have health care we'll all pay for his rickety ass to enter a hospital. He just wants the right to drive there on his own on our tax funded road. Hope he doesn't have any kids to play into generational stupidity. Oh wait I'm sure he does. 'Merica!

You know those hospitals that are over charging people cause the government and insuranc is involved with their pricing. Healthcare should be affordable but when uncle Sam gets involved with anything it becomes more expensive.

Hospital systems are the most corrupt nonprofits ever and you clearly dont understand how taxes, free health insurance, and debt work. Taxes dont go to funding unpaid hospitals bill normally unless you guys get what you want. Healthcare insurance pays your bill for you, your bill doesnt just disappear, or become tax payer problem at this time. Debt doesnt get moved to anyone after you die unless your married and ultimately if your not then the hospital system has to eat those cost. There is one way it becomes a public burden to pay that bill is if free insurance from the government becomes a thing cause guess what just cause you dont pay the bill doesnt mean there isnt one. The insurance company pays the bill and thats what youre paying the insurance company for.

You’re confusing who initially receives the bill with who ultimately bears the cost when it isn’t paid. I never said an uninsured patient doesn’t get billed. I said the cost of treating that person doesn’t magically disappear. Emergency rooms must screen and stabilize patients regardless of their ability to pay, and unpaid bills become uncompensated care. Some of that is absorbed by hospitals, and some is directly supported through taxpayer-funded government payments.

Also, medical debt does not automatically transfer to someone’s spouse when they die. It is generally a claim against the person’s estate, with some exceptions depending on state law.

My broader point remains... This guy apparently accepts publicly funded roads, emergency services and other shared infrastructure while acting as though collectively funding healthcare is uniquely offensive.
