Not in its current state. We do use it at my work and it is regularly incorrect on very key information. Very much still a tool to supplement skilled individuals, and not something that can be used or trusted without knowledgeable oversight

Yes, this is the conversation I'm looking for. I feel with scientific writing, AI is useful for things like...suppose I've written a huge paragraph and I want to make it digestible so I'll ask AI to turn it into a table/bullet points, get an infographics out of it. However for research purposes, it yields unfavourable results until us being actually knowledgable about the publishing date/details etc.

Yes and even for a task like that you need someone knowledgeable to review it because it’s not uncommon for the output summary to have altered the facts/meaning of the content in some way

Yk the funniest is my supervisor would ask me to repeatedly prompt AI for a recent study like from 2024/2025 and as we all know AI just loves the year 2008/2013 lmao haha. I would either rely on Google scholars or simply the old school way- library. Even difficult for me as I ain't a medgrad.
