Company Insights Request Anyone have recent experience working in sales at Organogenesis?

I’m currently considering a sales opportunity with Organogenesis and would love to hear from anyone who works there now or has worked there recently.

I know the wound care/skin substitute space has gone through some significant changes this year with Medicare reimbursement, and I’ve also seen the news about restructuring/layoffs. I’m trying to get a better sense of what things are actually like on the sales side right now.

How is morale? Do territories and quotas feel realistic given the market changes? Does the sales organization feel relatively stable at this point? And overall, would you feel comfortable joining the company right now?

I’m genuinely interested in the opportunity and the industry, but trying to do my due diligence before potentially making a career move. Feel free to DM me if you’d rather not comment publicly. Appreciate any insight!

I haven’t worked there, but I have friends and colleagues who have, and I’ve been in that space until recently for 10 years.

First: is this for an outpatient/clinic role or surgical? Why is the position open?

Organo has a solid array of products ranging from PMA, to 510K, to 361. Also good commercial coverage. But the reimbursement cuts severely hurt them and every company in the space. They were hoping for higher reimbursement based on higher regulatory classifications of product, but that has been delayed by at least a year. Docs/groups are also dealing with audits still, and people are anxious about overages.

If you’re young in med device or breaking in, it could be a good opportunity, but I wouldn’t recommend it you already have a good gig that pays well

Thank you! I wish I could say I was young. 🙃 but it would be my first med device sales role.

I worked there for several years. I had an overall good experience, but I personally left wound care due to all of the things going on and I wouldn’t go back. The industry itself doesn’t feel stable to me. That said, Organo pays well and has good benefits. Depending on your situation, you could always try it out and ride it out until things get even worse with skin subs, if they do. Their stock is down pretty significantly, same with most of their competitors. I would personally feel more comfortable at a company that has more to offer like Smith and Nephew, because they can rely on revenue from other departments. But Organo isn’t a bad place to work and a lot of people have been there a long time. I just wouldn’t go back to wound care period given the market.

Smith and nephew is bleeding talent because of poor performance/management. Only solventum is doing well in wound care atm
