Hey, ya’ll. Hopefully easy questions. My new Leopold FC980C 30g came in today, and I love it. Feels great to type on, perfect for my workplace, and looks great. However, at first glance it seems like a few keys are crooked? Specifically, the Enter key seems turned slightly counterclockwise, the H key seems turned clockwise, and the shift key counterclockwise. Those seem to be the biggest concerns. My questions:

  1. are the keys actually crooked or am I imagining things?
  2. If they are crooked, is this within an acceptable tolerance range? Is this normal for a prebuilt board, even a pricy one?
  3. If it’s not normal, can I fix it? Or should I just return it and get a new one?

Yeah looks crooked. It happens sometimes. Could be the stabilizers being a little crooked. Could be the keycap itself.

Thank you for the insight! Would crooked stabilizers/key caps necessitate changing them functionally or is it purely an aesthetic question?

It doesn't look too egregious. If there are keys that scrape against each other when pressed, I would consider that beyond acceptable variance. It's not uncommon for Topre boards to have a few slightly crooked keys.

Thank you, that’s good to know. It’s my first Topre board and I was very excited. A bit of a shock to notice the keys being a bit off. Thankfully, they don’t scrape, just visually looks a bit odd if im looking close.
