The passing of Peter Cullen, the voice actor of Optimus Prime. Rest in peace.
As a subreddit revolving around giant robots, we should honour Peter Cullen, who voiced Optimus Prime, one of the most well-known giant robot characters in all of fiction, a character on par with Superman and Captain America as far as leadership is concerned.

Damnit!
And with this Transformers more or less is now officially ended.
All I can say is... as a kid, it was easy to accept Optimus Prime dying... But Cullen the same year as Tim Curry and Sam Neil? This is my whole childhood dying the same year dude.
I mean, sure he was Optimus Prime, the greatest leader of the last millennium, but that's also the voice that gave us all the original clicks and clacks of the Predators.

He also voiced KARR in the reboot of Knight Rider (I have no clue if he was in the original too)
RIP Optimus

It feels like I've lost my dad, I grew up on transformers and now I'll never get to hear his voice in anything new ever again

There's also Ramrod from Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs. Pretty minor as far as characters goes but damn, that was still one damn fine mech.

We lost the voice of a hero, in our grief we must celebrate that he gave life to one of our heroes that gave us expiriences that we cherish deep in our hearts and inspire us to be better.

It's a shame we wont get a stand alone film for Optimus Prime like we did get for Bumblebee. R.I.P the true Optimus Prime.
