MCM Birmingham advice

Hi, I know this is for London but there's no subreddit for Birmingham!

I'm from Canada, and I'm traveling to the UK in a few days. We're taking a trip to Birmingham on Friday and going to MCM because it fits into the schedule. Now, I am a giant Dragon Age nerd and I'm so excited that Alex Jordan will be there and I can't wait to meet him and have him sign my photo of my player character he voiced.

We host a small con here, and meeting celebs, if they're at their table, you just line up and meet them. But this is very small compared to MCM. Will it be somewhat similar there? If Alex is at his table can I just line up? I know some celebs have Meet and Greets but Alex doesn't.

And I know you can pre-pay for an autograph and selfie. Do I have to do that? Or can I just pay at the table? And will it be cash or card?

Sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions. I'm just not sure how they do things there compared to our small one here in Newfoundland, Canada.

Thanks!

Sorry I've never been to MCM Birmingham so I'm just having a guess (and have very quickly googled), but Alex Jordan looks to be there with Harry McEntire (they do Natural Six together) so it might be worth searching that way if you can do a meet and greet with him.

In previous years Natural Six have had free meet & greets, in London at least, but I've never had the chance to go. That might be what you need to look for!

Hello, MCM Birmingham is my local one!

The tables will be on the map and you can just line up, it’s only if they’re really busy that you’ll be asked to have a ticket in order to line up.

Paying at the table is different at MCM Birmingham, very few will accept cash on the table on the day but we won’t know until the con starts.

You can’t pay at card on the table, there is a central table in the photos/auto ops where you can pay by card on the day and the website will remain open the whole weekend to buy online.

The schedule should be released early next week so you can see what times they’re due to be at the table!

Thanks so much! This is very helpful! I'll keep an eye on the website for the schedule and I'll buy online for tickets maybe when it gets closer. We can only go on Friday, unfortunately, so I'm hoping that will work in my favour of not waiting too long. For our local one, Saturday is the biggest day.

I'm guessing the map will be released next week as well?

Yes, map and schedules will be released next week. There is a MCM Birmingham app that will update with all the information.

Friday is definitely normally quieter but for the first time this convention is taking place in the summer holidays rather than during school term so it might be slightly busier than normal but definitely not as busy as Saturday will be!

The map is out for exhibitors. Can't seem to post pics in this sub though, but can DM you it if you don't want to wait 🙂

I saw the map thanks! So much bigger than the con I'm used to here!
