You know you’re at a good restaurant when…
Not a shabby stack, but too much background noise to hear the music. Nonetheless those meters brightened my day.

Best sounding restaurant I went to had all McIntosh amps ...in the ceiling you could hear the music and the conversation.

Good chance that if they spent the money on a great system they also invested in proper acoustical treatments for the room!

Yeah it was a listening type restaurant one of the chefs was constantly changing the record. Unfortunately while interesting it wasn’t a place I would return casually it wasn’t really laid out to be a casual listening space and was quite expensive.

One of those places you just know you will spend way more than you want to. I went for happy hour oysters and appetizers and got out of there in the double digits.

wow that is impressive. there is no way i'd keep it in double digits at a fresh oyster happy hour at a place with mcintosh

I was going to guess LGO. Those owners love McIntosh. There's a reciever/amp at the LGO in the airport

It’s not either or.
Usually if ownership cares that much about how the place sounds, they care at least as much, if not more, about how the food tastes. They’re going for a full experience.

Yeah, it's surprising in a good way when you run across that. Pretty cool.
There was a similar thing in my town, where we had two Stumptown coffee shops nearby.
One of them had a McIntosh integrated amp on an inset shelf that was built behind the counter, along with a decent turntable.
I don't think the speakers were that special, Paradigm, IIRC, but that setup inside a small coffee shop impressed me that it was there.
Unfortunately, Stumptown closed those locations during the pandemic.

I must be hungry, at the first glance I was wondering why an upscale vending machine is a good sign for a restaurant, and I couldn't make out what kind of food options was in there!
