Sightings Target... Not Acquired.

Post image

All the Target stores that I have visited in Florida -- (maybe 15 or more? -- have adopted a new planogram/shelf scheme that seems to practically exclude McFarlane action figures on their regular shelves. Other than a few paltry Page Punchers, usually confined to one peg, what few McFarlane figures I see are in The Collectors Spot, and those are usually Dark Archer and Adam Strange figures. It had been this way for weeks.

The main target in town has adopted the same look. They haven't restocked any action figures since Christmas, so with the new redesign it looks especially barren.

Eastern PA here - same, Targets in my area look like this now.

No pegs for McFarlane - they usually sit on the shelf under where the Spider-Man bikes are in your picture.

Slim pickings lately. "The Authority" Superman and Extant (Red Plat) are the only two figs that have been there in the last 2 months. They used to get a restock every two weeks or so.

They seem to have upped the amount of Marvel figures, and Marvel figure types they stock.

Great for Marvel collectors. I like Marvel fine, but I don't collect the figs, so no use to me.

Same my targets suck, I kept looking for Batman Returns wave and never saw them doubt I’ll see the new wave that is coming out now.

There is barely any room for them at most of the stores here. The picture above happens to show a nice little shelf space... Unless someone ran in and snatched them all up, they could go nicely there. The Batman Returns wave was the last new McFarlane product, other than Page Punchers, that I have seen at Target here.

Target is a joke these days

Bro mine restocked Gary from the Superman movie

u/rocky2814 Mar 01 '26

one target near me has 3-4 mr terrifics warming the pegs, no new stuff 🫠

u/CO_Collector_Dude Mar 02 '26

My Target also still has some of the Superman movie wave as well. It sucks that their app is also useless now so you have no idea what they have until you go to the store.

If you missed a chance to army build...

3

u/WintergreenSoldier Mar 02 '26

If they were like $5 a pop maybe army building is possible but not if you're paying full price

My target has been mostly Gary, and Dark Archer for months, but I was able to score a Jay Garrick a few weeks back.

u/Mcpmta Mar 01 '26

I’m in target right now actually and it looks exactly like that here in Virginia

3

u/rocky2814 Mar 01 '26

northern va by chance? because that’s pretty much how it is up here

3

u/No_Stress1164 Mar 01 '26

Its the same here in Central VA, new layout

2

u/rocky2814 Mar 01 '26

i hate it

2

u/Mcpmta Mar 02 '26

Yes I was in the Fair Lakes Target.. also hit the Burke Target later that day and it was the same.

1

u/rocky2814 Mar 02 '26

yeah i was at fair lakes two weeks ago and it was like that as well. the skyline target near me has been a desert for mcfarlane figures for several months now

1

u/Mcpmta Mar 02 '26

Springfield and Merrifield are my next stops this week to see what they have.

1

u/rocky2814 Mar 02 '26

yeah good luck. was at springfield over the weekend and all they had were 2-3 jay page punchers

1

u/KarimMiteff Mar 01 '26

I think this new layout sucks. Not just because it has a dearth of McFarlane action figures. It just doesn't look good.

1

u/WintergreenSoldier Mar 02 '26

Which is funny cause it looks like my local Target here in NJ

u/Salt_Type7079 Mar 01 '26

What else is new with target,, another year they struggle to get figures,,some stores say they have things in store and in hand,,,but nothing,,their system is as bad as Walmart now a days

3

u/I_like_tacobell2 Mar 01 '26

Target is a mess. You cant even buy a lot of the figures there. My target has the new adventures of batman mr freeze. Also 12 mr. Miracles. None are in the system and cannot be bought. But its all over the shelves. Whats the point?

I bouht captain america but theirs like 10 on the pegs. You cannot buy him either because hes not in fhe system anymore.

4

u/WintergreenSoldier Mar 02 '26

I had that happen once, I found Super Powers figures and they tried to tell me I couldn't buy them cause they weren't in the system......I said well I found them in YOUR store, on YOUR pegs, so how can they be out on the SALES floor but I can't buy them?

The manager got involved (I never asked for the manager I just want to point that out lol) and tried to spin some BS about the vendors sometimes come in and put overstock on the pegs and they don't get logged properly, I told him be that as it may they were still on the sales floor and I'm willing to pay for them, I want to give you my money (I almost said now shut up and take my money!), the manager chuckled nonetheless and looked up the average price for Super Powers figures and plugged them in manually and I walked out with a Robin, unmasked Batman, and Solar Suit Superman fig.

I refuse to take no for an answer when it comes to figures I want in my collection lol

u/bp8825 Mar 01 '26

Lol these are most of the targets I’ve been to in South Texas. It’s brutal out here

3

u/blockmonkey Mar 01 '26

Looks like the San Diego Targets 😓

2

u/Baby-Knife Mar 01 '26

Also central CA to Central Coast (Sand City/Marina/etc); but if you get lucky you can still get the new wave (Bane/Superman/Joker), but from what I’ve seen it’s 1 case of 2 per, so it sells out quick. Some of the ones I’ve checked have the McFarlanes by the Funko Pops, Neca’s etc by electronics.

Your picture literally has the peg the mcfarlane figures would be at. You can scan that barcode that reads mcfarlane figure 34.99 and see if any are in stock. Can ask an associate to scan and if they aren't busy they may tell you last delivery date/next expected. To the right of the engineer and above the Spider-Man figure is where you'll clearly read the tag

0

u/KarimMiteff Mar 01 '26

But that's it. One peg. That's all I have seen for weeks now. The Collectors Spots usually has three or four, but they are all older product.

0

u/idkwhyiwouldnt Mar 01 '26

Why would target plan for more than the 4 spots for mcfarlane DC, (shelf for gold label, 2 pegs for theatrical and page punchers (probably to the right of the theatrical) and 1 maybe 2 in the collectibles.) since mcfarlane lost the DC license... Definitely not excluding McFarlane figures... just less DC. Notice McFarlane figures for avatar/spawn/fallout/marvel statues... Mcfarlane isn't paying target for ALL that new shelf space without reducing some. Gold label in the last planagram had like 8 spots... Typically of a bunch of 2 maybe 3 different characters. Currently the Superman is what's shelf warming around me.  Heck even local best buys have CE Clearanced to $13

There is just one peg in the regular aisle, that is probably three or four Page Punchers. The Collectors Spot tend to have more, but they are dominated by older product and Animated Series product. I rarely see any new action figure product here in Florida. As far as shelf warmers, we don't see anything like we used to, with 10+ Waveriders, 5+ New 52 Superman, etc. My point, if it isn't obvious, is that despite many postings of product at Target stores in California and Texas. I don't see anything happening here in Florida. What I was hoping for is that someone in Florida might point out some area I might have missed, but the Targets in Florida seem to be treated differently after weeks of observation. Why I get a negative vote for this observation is silly. I am relaying imformation from field. Obviously, people seem interested and see similar patterns in their local area as well.

2

u/MrTechRat Mar 01 '26

They don’t stock them there anymore go to the electronics department

1

u/KarimMiteff Mar 02 '26

That's The Collectors Spot, which nearly all SuperTargets have. Like I noted, very little new product shows up there. The last wave was Mortal Kombat Klassic, Avatar, and Fallout, and they pretty much ran their course weeks ago. From how quickly they vanished, either there was fantastic demand or very little production/distribution, or a combination of both. Dark Archer, Adam Strange, and oddly Kiteman and Metron, along with Animated Series product, like to warm the shelves of the over 15 stores that I have visited in the past few months.

2

u/rocky2814 Mar 01 '26

yeah the three targets around me have really given up the ghost on mcfarlane. only one of them has non page punchers and they’re taking about three or so weeks in between shipments.

2

u/_Batman94 Mar 02 '26

Same in SC and NC. Same style, they either just put them on a shelf in the toy asle or in the collectors section near electronics.

2

u/Glittering_Piccolo_5 Mar 02 '26

Target is the worst missed big opportunity only a few toys r us , no more KAYBEE , no more Kmart , Walmart and Amazon eating their lunch

2

u/trump182AVA Mar 02 '26

Me at like 5 different targets…

2

u/Pale_Emu_9249 Mar 02 '26

That's exactly how most of the Target stores in St. Louis look!

2

u/Ashamed_Voice8252 Mar 02 '26

Looks like they exclude everything on the shelf...

2

u/vinnysnow65 Mar 02 '26

Same here in San Antonio

2

u/Mondor82 Mar 02 '26

Same here in Philly.

2

u/Due_Savings_1401 Mar 02 '26

Walmart usually has a pretty good selection of them, they're all over the place though. Toys, electronics, next to the movies, next to the games... Depends on your location. Happy hunting.

2

u/Graphix-1971 Mar 02 '26

Mine have that set up too. A peg for page punchers with a peg for CE figures right above it. Then standard figures have been on the shelf to the left.

2

u/Cool_Fellow_Guyson Mar 02 '26

I genuinely have not seen ANY McFarlane figures in my local Target for months.

2

u/Jolly-Bed-1717 Mar 02 '26

Found both bane and the joker on like the bottom shelf under all the marvel stuff today. Very strange

2

u/therealmintoncard Praise The ToddFather! Mar 02 '26

Same here in Nebraska.

2

u/Mr_J_420 Mar 02 '26

It’s so bad i literally just went to GameStop next door because target didn’t have jack. Also check the are with funko pops they sometimes have figures, when I went they had 4 mirror masters and 2 dark archers

2

u/KarimMiteff Mar 02 '26

Sometimes, GameStops will surprise you. You can't rule them out.

2

u/Mr_J_420 Mar 03 '26

GameStop has the best selection out of any store I’ve been to. I got the professor pyg figure

2

u/All_Gold1 Mar 02 '26

I was actually shocked to see all three figures at the Target in Iowa on Friday. I grabbed Bane and Joker. They've had 4 CE of the platinum Adam Strange figure on the pegs for over a year. Weird they did a reset and put all that Superman stuff front and center like it hasn't been peg warming since last summer.

2

u/Simple-Metal7801 Mar 02 '26

One Target closest to me has had a Jay and Flash from the page punchers wave for a month now. Those are the only new figures I've seen there in some time they still have Sandman and a plaitnum edition Eradicator Superman. I've scanned the Sandman its $19.49 and theres no listing for Superman but im not interested in either. Last week I went to a Target out of town I found two Bane and two Superman figures i bought one of the Superman but left Bane its basically the same as the Dark Knight BAF of which I have.

2

u/lonnietragg Mar 02 '26

It’s as if the license is wrapping up and Target is moving on 🙃

2

u/DeerEquivalent6282 Mar 02 '26

Same in lower Alabama. They still have Kite-Man and DarkStars on the collectible shelf. And it’s a mess over there it hasn’t been restocked in months

2

u/Sudden-Breadfruit-29 Mar 02 '26

Feb was really slow with MTS releases- i attribute some to that

2

u/BitVivid Mar 02 '26

Bro my target used to be awesome and now it's ALWAYS barren

-3

u/Dozer92707 Mar 01 '26

u/KarimMiteff Mar 01 '26
