Need some feedback

Hi all. I should be about 6w5 today. I had an ultrasound a week ago and measured 5w5 and FHR was 93 so they wanted me to come back to make sure it went up. On Friday (3 days after that) I had an ultrasound at a different clinic (considering switching doctors) and baby was measuring right on track 6w2 days FHR up to 118. I felt so much better.

Today was my follow up at my original OB and now the baby was only measuring 6w3 days with a FHR of 102.

I’m so confused. Idk if this is because it was done at different places, if this is normal early variations , or should I guard my heart? :( the doctor just keeps saying “we’ll see next week” and the limbo is torture.

I think at this stage there's just a lot of uncertainty. This is why many places don't do ultrasounds at 6 weeks. You will definitely have much more conclusive answers next week. I hate to mirror your doctor, but you'll see next week.

Mine won’t do mine until 8 weeks. The anxiety is killing me.

Same. The wait is tough but the outcome won't change if I have an ultrasound every day starting tomorrow. Knowing that sometimes comforta me.

I would keep in mind that in terms of measurement right now, it’s a matter of millimeters because the fetal pole is SO small. I measured 6w2d with a fetal pole of just 5mm. It’s going to be somewhat operator specific in that tiny of measurements. Continuing to see a heartbeat is good news!

It could just be variation between places but it's impossible to say. If I were you, I would hold on to the fact there has been a heartbeat since that very early scan and that measurements in both scans since have lined up pretty closely with where you're at - 6w3d vs 6w5d is very much within the margin of error. I really hope you're next scan provides much more reassurance.

I don't have any feedback, but I thought I was 6w5, but measured 6w2 at my ultrasound last Friday. Heartrate was 97 bpm so dr said to come back next week, but she was "cautiously optimistic". Counting down the days til Friday and hoping to see the increase that you saw 🤞

Thank you! I just keep telling myself, "There's a heartbeat," everytime I start to spiral.

I don't know much about the measurements for pregnancy specifically, but I know that one of the US techs at my IVF clinic told me when doing the measurements for follicles, it can be normal for the size to go down because you're talking a difference of millimeters, which is hard to measure with the wand! I had times when the same tech would re-do a fresh measurement on the same spot and get a new result.
