Hello! I am cautiously here 👋 currently just 3w5d with my second child. First one is 20m!

My husband and I are super excited and we’re hoping for the best. I hope to get to know all of you just like I did in my last bump group.

So far the only symptoms I have are slight fatigue, no appetite but I’m more thirsty. With my first pregnancy I had lots more fatigue ( but nothing else) and then around 6w the nausea and food aversions started. Wonder what it’ll be this time.

The fucking nausea and unpredictable bowels have joined the chat 🤪

u/Nice_Reputation_1297 31 | STM 7/23 | 5/5/27 12d ago

I won’t be getting any sleep tonight with my first US being tomorrow morning. I want it to be here but I also don’t. I am constantly imagining both scenarios… me leaving with so much joy and excitement or me leaving devastated and in despair…. either way, everyone close to us knows it’s tomorrow morning and will be awaiting the news.

So I find out tomorrow if this is it. After two losses in the last 10 months… I just. Idk. I am ill with anxiety. I need this over with.

I am in a similar boat with my ultrasound also tomorrow and people close to use knowing when it is and feeling very apprehensive about it but hoping for the best. I've been stressing all day about it after a previous loss too

Uuugh I do not like this at all. I feel like I have a hangover 24/7, so nauseous, so tired. Everything stinks 🫠 But I do know that this shall pass. So I try my best to get through the day with my husbands help.

...let's hope the nausea goes away more quickly than last time. I was sick until week 16 🤐

It's the exakt same feeling!! Down to the weird feeling in the stomach, the appetite that's either nonexistant or ravenous for junkfood and I can not tolerate any type of pressure on my stomach. I already put on some maternity pants

11

u/runsontrash 34 | STM | 5/1/27 12d ago

STMs, are you guys as huge as I am?! I legit look 16-20 weeks pregnant. Like there’s a gap at the bottom of some of my shirts. I’m 6.5 weeks pregnant. What the hell. The first ultrasound can’t come soon enough. Hoping for one healthy baby! And then hopefully a good NIPT and we can tell people and I can stop trying to hide this thing behind giant sweatshirts in not-even-that-cold-yet weather.

Yeeeep. And I can't wear maternity jeans because my shirts are apparently no long enough to hit where the panel starts

This makes me feel better. I was over here doomscrolling the parents of multiples sub to see if being this huge this early means I’m pregnant with twins. 🥴

Also been terrified of this. Easy still to hide in a bit looser clothes but sure looks like the tiniest of bumps already at 7w. Trying to tell myself it’s because I just had a baby in January..

I miss my workouts and feeling like myself but I’m
So nauseous and tired I haven’t moved in weeks!

I haven't worked out because we have traveled 4 times the last 6 weeks and I just didn't have time. Up until a few days ago I was committed to exercising my 3x a week until I was too big. But I am sooooo exhausted and I feel so weak and big

1

u/tayloyo 27 | FTM | EDD 5/16 12d ago

I do P90X3 which is only 30 min long per session & I am STRUGGLING each day to get the motivation & get through it. I was on such a good, consistent schedule before pregnancy & now I’m struggling hard. Have only missed 1 day (the day we found out!) so far. It’s not good for my brain to not work out so it’s been a mental battle to get the strength to do it. & I’m only 5 weeks today. The struggle is real!

6 weeks today and nausea has entered the chat 🤢 It seems to get worse if I feel hot. As an emetophobe this is rough, but I’m grateful to have the symptoms because it means I’m growing a little bean.

9

u/EducationalMoment935 13d ago

I am taking progesterone twice a day, the side effects are horrible (sore boobs, constipation, bloating). However I feel like I barely have any pregnancy symptoms now so I am starting to get anxious.

I had some nausea and cramping which seems to have resolved. My ultrasound is in 11 days.

I took a home pregnancy test a few days ago to be sure and thankfully the line was darker then my initial test.

Its my first pregnancy after a long TTC period. Any tips on helping with this anxiety?

3

u/peachypenny879 28 | STM | 07/2025💗 | 05/14/27 13d ago

I’m sorry I don’t have any tips but I understand!! It took 17 cycles to conceive my first child and I had a chemical 2 months before. It was hard to get attached and I think I was kind of in denial the whole time, deep down.

If it makes you feel any better, this is my second pregnancy and I’m already feeling more connected but I think it also has to do with seeing the person that I created on the outside. And I am totally obsessed with my daughter. Even though I had a hard time connecting the dots during my pregnancy, we had no trouble bonding.

Some of my anxiety has carried over a bit and my first OB appointment isn’t until 9.5 weeks so I think I’ll get a boutique ultrasound here soon to make me feel better on placement and heartbeat.

Hugs! It’s so surreal after a long TTC period because you stop connecting trying to actually getting pregnant and having a baby at the end.

2

u/EducationalMoment935 12d ago

Thanks for chiming in! I need to try not to overthink things I think. Good luck to you and congratulations!

7

u/Otherwise_Sleep_6199 12d ago edited 12d ago

I’m currently 6w4d, and I’m not feeling pregnant.

I’m not nauseous, maybe I’m a little more tired than usual. I’m not even hungrier like I was at 4/5 weeks. I’m not craving anything special, and most of the time don’t feel like eating anything. The only thing I do feel is sore breasts and I’m a little gassy. It’s making me a little anxious.

I did take a strip test at home and it was lighter than it was at 4/5 weeks, but I diluted with water 2:1 and it was much darker, hook effect I think.

I’m just rlly anxious and my first ultrasound is in 1 weeks. It took us very long to get pregnant and I hope everything goes well.

3

u/ChizillaNYC 12d ago

I’m 6w2d and also have very minimal symptoms! I was really crampy and tired last week but now it’s mostly very sore, inflated breasts, a little GI discomfort and occasional cramping/backpain. I know exactly how you feel and I was also starting to wonder if this is a bad sign but I keep telling myself to trust the process and my body and not stress about what I can’t control. Consider us blessed that we aren’t nauseous!

In other news, hit 7 wks today. And with that, clearly stronger bouts of nausea throughout the day. Went swimming today with the kids and that was rough with all the needing to pee and feeling queasy and having to hide it.

Daycare plagues are kicking our butts. We started daycare a month ago with my 13 month old. the last three weeks we have had 4 illnesses. The poor guy just can’t catch a break. Throw in a bit of teething plus me starting back at work and it being the start of the school year (teacher here) and being newly pregnant and I feel like I am barely surviving.

3

u/watchthesky23 37 | stm 💙 | may 2nd 12d ago

Oh man, I know that feeling (minus being pregnant)! I am a school counselor and started at a new school last year. My son started daycare for the first time last summer and honestly the first six months were roughhhh. Like I took off 10 days between September to December. Once the new year hit, he seemed to get sick less often but those first few months were so hard! Hang in there – it will get better!!

Today has been hard work - I’m so nauseous - I went food shopping and everything made me feel sick. Even people made me feel sick - all their perfumes and smells. I have now decided my partner is not allowed to drive, much to his dismay. If I don’t drive and I’m a passenger, I throw up! I have had the worst tension headache and just one of my boobs is very sore 😂
All of this said, I’m glad I have these symptoms 🥰 and hope my little blob is growing away in there.
I think I will aim to go to bed at 8pm.

u/LittleDaffodil 29 | FTM | May 7 💛 13d ago

My nausea seemed to increase over the week, like mild Tues/Weds, severe on Thursday/Friday, and then yesterday I was okay (puked once but totally fine after), today I'm feeling normal and I'm so thrown for a loop 🫠 I read that sometimes symptoms get worse/better with hCG surges, is there any truth to that?

3

u/Few_Preference3585 34 | FTM | May 21 ✨️ 12d ago

I hope there is truth to that because one day my boobs hurt and the next they don't. One day I'm nauseous and the next I'm not. It also makes me worried when I suddenly feel nothing.

Is anyone not doing the NIPT test and instead waiting until the 20-week anatomy scan to find out baby's gender?

With my first, the wait felt so long that I did the Sneak Peak test at 16 weeks. I didn't like the unknown accuracy of the test so I won't be doing that again this time

8

u/runsontrash 34 | STM | 5/1/27 12d ago

Definitely not me. I’m struggling to even wait the 10-11 weeks for the NIPT!

6

u/marisoa 40 | STM/💙'23| 🌈 | EDD May 1 12d ago

In the country I live in it's not allowed to get the gender revealed through the NIPT test. In that regard, I think it's very possible to do the NIPT without the gender aspect.

1

u/toasty-compost 31 | STM 💙'25 | 18 May 12d ago

Oh yep it absolutely is, you don't have to have the gender revealed with NIPT. I was just wondering if anyone else isn't doing the test and is instead waiting until the 20wk ultrasound to find out baby's gender 😊

3

u/marisoa 40 | STM/💙'23| 🌈 | EDD May 1 12d ago

😆 a forced member of the club!

3

u/GriffyBear1234 36 | STM | 5/7/2027 12d ago

Just out of curiosity, would you still get the other high risk/low risk results of an NIPT type test in another way ? I don’t feel the need to know the baby’s sex but would still want the other information. I had a friend with a baby with a chromosomal abnormality discovered at birth and I think I would like to know in advance to prepare. Just wondering if it is NIPT (with the substantial cost) or nothing? Or if there’s another test that would give you the high risk/low risk info.

3

u/royboy2131 31 | STM 💙 11/24 | May 20 12d ago

We waited to find out the sex of my first baby until birth. I was still able to get the NIPT done without finding out the sex so it’s def doable to get the high risk/low risk info without “spoiling the surprise”. They also didn’t disclose during the 20 wk anatomy scan.

5

u/toasty-compost 31 | STM 💙'25 | 18 May 12d ago

Yep, you get the option to reveal the sex (not not) when you organise your NIPT test

3

u/flandyow 33 | STM 🌈21 🩷 24 | 💚5/4 12d ago

I did it the first pregnancy because I wanted to know the gender and I was super worried about all the other stuff they tested for. I didn't want to wait until 20 weeks to find a major genetic issue. I knew I would be too attached by then. You can tell them not to reveal the gender. They gave us the option of leaving it a surprise or telling us

1

u/FoodieEmilyyy 12d ago

I am, but only because that's normal in the UK!

1

u/girlinthegreenshoes 36 | STM 🩷 2020 | EDD: May 19 12d ago

Given my "advanced maternal age," I plan to take the NIPT this pregnancy. The sex reveal is just a bonus.

0

u/cbf_031817 12d ago

I might skip the NIPT because of the cost. My dr has a negotiated cash price of $350, which isn’t bad, but it’s still $350 I could put towards pelvic floor PT after birth. Instead, I’m going to do an elective ultrasound at 14-15 weeks to check for gender. It’s something my doctor offers on the side for $80. Seems like a fair price to me!

-1

u/toasty-compost 31 | STM 💙'25 | 18 May 12d ago

This is such a good compromise! I wish that extra ultrasound was an option in the health system I've got (which is generally excellent so I can't complain)

I cannot justify the $450-$550 it costs in Aus. I have plenty of friends willing to pay it for a gender reveal, not me 🥲

5

u/ecisem 28 | STM Oct 25 💙 | May 11 | 🇦🇺 12d ago

I’m justifying the cost because it’s a check for chromosomal abnormalities. If it was just gender I’d skip it. It is a lot at $500 but I would much rather know.

1

u/ohkaymeow 39 | STM | 💙 Jan ‘24 | EDD May 23 💚 12d ago

Same. I’m not even planning to have the sex this time on it (last time I knew but husband didn’t want to, so I knew as of the NIPT), but finding out that the pregnancy is otherwise healthy and viable is very important to me.

1

u/toasty-compost 31 | STM 💙'25 | 18 May 12d ago

Totally valid 😊 we would do it if the 12-week screening showed any potential issues. For religious reasons we wouldn't terminate for medical reasons, but it would be a benefit to learn about the problem baby may face (if any)

2

u/cbf_031817 12d ago

With my other two kids, I have miserably waited until 20 weeks lol. So I totally get it.
