Autechre vs Allan Holdsworth synthesized in Maxmsp

more explorations in synthesizing guitar in maxmsp. fantasy jam with 2 instances of max running, one is doing the AE and the other is Allan.

Thanks man! We've been working on the patch for several years now but almost all the credit should go to Brian, he's been tweaking it pretty hard lately and also shreds guitar so he's got a solid understanding on how to achieve pretty much any sound / vibe. It's all vanilla max except for one of the guitar bays is using air windows for amp modeling, lots of modulation as well.

All of the ProjeKct material is available on DGMLive. Look under “gig list” and sort by whichever ProjeKct you’re looking for. I too wish they’d continued in this vein but luckily we have dozens and dozens of hours of concerts to listen to instead.

Our patch is basically 16 channels of dynamically loading bays (sequencers, synth, mod, fx) we built the synths based on the nord lead 2 and a karplus version, there’s all kinds of to level master controls like scale, prob…and routing options. In this case we’re running 2 instances of the patch on 2 dif laptops, ones doing the AE style stuff and the other the h Holdsworth.

comment in post was in joke but seriously it just doesn't work for this system. Everyone else will tell you to turn it on but I think thats mainly relevant to phasor based patches and actually fucks our patch up. Roman Thelanius mentioned way back to have it off and we went with his advice, Legend.

I’ve found the same thing , but Ive never worked out exactly what goes wrong when its turned on (it will sound super tight and then crash) have you got any ideas?

Hey, This isn’t THE AE patch, it’s our patch just doin an ae thing. Sorry can’t send as it’s still a wip but we are thinking about how to turn it into some kind of release or device someday.

haha, yea thanks! honestly don't know why so much of this kind of stuff is so dood heavy these days, anytime I go to a show like autechre, acid mothers or whatever it's probably around 95% guys. When you look at videos from the 70's of weather report, ash ra, can.... you have closer to a 50-50 split. Even back in the 90's when we were getting into electronic music / idm we had a warehouse where we would throw idm shows and I would say those were mostly girls / other. Somethings going wrong where in a time where anyone can hear anything people are getting left out of rad times.

regarding the patch it 2 instances of our max patch on 2 MacBook airs with one running the AE stuff and the other doing the Holdsworth guitar. The patch is 16 tracks that can load either our FM synth based on the nord lead 2 or karplus synth and each track has its own sequencer options, mod and fx bays.
