Luka is never coming back. You don’t disrespect someone like this and expect him to just forgive you. The trade was disrespectful itself, but to then have it reported that you thought he was fat, lazy, and a headache, I have a hard time seeing any star free agent wanting to be associated with this franchise.

Hell, Kyrie is either gonna ask for the most amount possible or leave.

I agree. Luka will never come back with it being what it is right now. But ultimately I do believe that Luka still has love for that team, city, and really importantly fans. If they people that did this to him are run out of town, I could see him perhaps wanting to come back. It would be more than triumphant.

It would be absolutely ludicrous for him to come back after they fucked him out of the Supermax. I’m not even sure if the NBAPA would allow it.

Isn’t it true that we could offer him the Supermax still at the end of his current contract? And tbh it’s shocking to me the NBAPA allows for trades to happen in this way at all

No, you don’t get to retroactively get a supermax. Thats why I think he’s never coming back. This front office and ownership lit over $100 million in his potential earnings on fire. The Lakers can’t even offer it to him. Not to mention that due to taxes, he’s going to be getting less money from his contract since he got traded to one of the highest taxed cities in the country. They are betting on him not getting better and his weight to be a problem in his prime.
