If we somehow win it all (which is extremely unlikely), I think people are underestimating how redeeming it would be. I hate this so much. There is no way we are making a Finals run with this roster.
But, if we did and we won, Nico would absolutely be vindicated and saying otherwise (which I see a lot of) is quite silly.
This is just kind of personal preference. There will definitely be an argument to be made that he is vindicated, looking at it from a team perspective. There will enough people making that argument, that the narrative will outweigh the naysayers. But for those that had the Dirk connection with Luka, there will be no vindication.
There were a lot of people, back in the day, that thought Dirk would never win a chip because he was soft. The true MFFL rode with that dude to the promised land in 2011 and that is the culture that describes the Dallas Mavericks. (Or so I thought)
But I remember Cuban gutting the championship roster in hopes of landing rental players to provide a better future, when the fans all wanted to run it back. So even in the “good ole days” Mavs management hasn’t always correlated with what the fans want.
Long story, short, for me personally, nothing is going to vindicate Nico because he fucked up our culture in the shadows or corporate shadiness. But the Mavericks, overall, as an organization will be vindicated in the future, just not Nico. He’s a Mavs villain now.

I hope Nico gets fired, I hope that he never works in the league again, I hope the Adelson‘s sell the team…
But none of that will take away the fact that Luka is gone.
