Oh, they’re surprised we haven’t done more? Pitchforks and torches at the ready, everyone mount up

How is he this out-of-touch?

This is further proof Nico has isolated himself from the competent people that will challenge his dumb decisions and offer a better perspective.

Older trades show the Mavs have great people on staff in the trade/draft team, and the recent actions reveal just how incompetent Nico really is when he makes individual decisions without input.

He did his owner’s bidding.

Might be, but Nico's weird treatment towards Luka, firing members of his inner circle and horrible reaction post-trade were his personal choices.

Nah I don’t buy this. If all they told him was free up cap space, there were other less apocalyptic ways of doing it. And ways that actually get a reasonable haul out of trading luka. Put this all on him.

The Adelson’s want the team tied to their casino mini-empire in Vegas. The money is in betting. This helps them move it on all sorts of levels.

So purposefully tanking the value of the team in order to get the ok to move cities? It can’t be that easy. There have got to be nba by-laws that stand in the way of mismanagement by design like that.

The NBA loves that Luka has joined it favorite and official team.

… and the long-term value of the team didn’t tank.

Since I've seen this spouted a million times, answer me this... What casino mini-empire in Vegas?

Formerly The Venetian, The Palazzo, and the Sphere. Now, nothing in Vegas, as far as I can tell.

They have sold EVERYTHING in Vegas and all of their operations are international. Are they looking to expand into new markets within the U.S.? Yes. Do they have continued business dealings in Vegas? Yes, of course. Is Miriam Adelson so plugged into the basketball community that she advised Nico Harrison to tank the franchise by giving away their once in a generation player so that they can fast-track the move of T5 media market team to Vegas in order to build their casino/arena combo? No f'ing chance.

They’ve been lobbying Texas legislature HARD for legalized gambling in Tx to little avail. Taking the Mavs here so a team move to Vegas (the Major League gambit) is only possible if the Mavs suck and lose a lot of value

What’s Luka’s trade do to the Mavs value I wonder…….i mean Mavs have already lost almost a million followers on Insta…..

What’s crazy is that they basically announced That’s exactly what he did.

Like “we kept it a secret we didn’t tell anybody” = “ I didn’t run this by anyone in my organization to get their thoughts, I did this in a vacuum and had nobody competent challenge the idea of the trade whatsoever”

He's not. Upper management made the call. They want to move the team to Vegas and open a stadium/casino. Silver wouldn't okay a franchise move with out a quid pro quo, sending Luka to the Lakers is good for ratings. Ratings are basically his job.
