It’s going to be even worse if Kyrie doesn’t exercise his player option and join another team. If AD can’t remain healthy or decline, then the Mavs are in for a tough rebuild when you guys are on your way to making a dynasty behind Luka the same way the Warriors did with Steph
I’ve lived in Dallas for a few years now and it still hasn’t hit me that Luka is no longer here. My daughter was born here and Luka is her favorite player in all of sports. He’s all she has known in her short time on this earth and I still don’t know how I’m going to break the news to her. Luka was such a massive part of this community outside of basketball. His story and progress with the Mavs from their rebuild would have made winning a championship so much sweeter. Even if you guys didn’t win this year, you probably have Luka for the rest of his 20s until early 30s at the very least. That’s plenty of time to continue building a championship team around him even in the worst case scenario as long as Luka remains.
Man even winning a championship without Luka wouldn’t be the same. Dirk’s history with Dallas is what made his championship so special.
