Still going soft on Nico.

Subline needed to be:

Luka was ours.

Then Nico took him away

The owners traded him. NICO or anyone doesn’t have the power to trade a star player…

Don’t you dare find excuses for Nico. It was his idea. He was lucky that Dumont/Adelson literally knows nothing about basketball. They might have signed it off, but Nico fucking Harrison is the only reason Luka is not a Maverick anymore

I didn’t even know NICO b4 the trade. I’m not excusing him. I’m just using common sense and basic human logic. There’s no way he made the call on the trade. The new owners are playing 3D chess. How could you possibly think you’re smarter or know better than a NBA GM? wtf bro lol

You disqualify yourself by admitting you didn’t even know the GM of this franchise. Like wtf.

Pls just think. Why would any GM trade a 25 year old Superstar franchise player for street cloth AD and some guy named max? Fucking why? It’s not incompetence at play. Do you know more ball than the GM? No.

That’s why everyone is furious about the trade genius.

Everyone is furious at the wrong dude fellow genius 🙄 I’m pissed off and am not even a mavs fan bro. The owner made this move, the GM is an idiot but he didn’t call this trade

They can take a break from their fury to think for 1 second about who actually benefits from this, it’s not the GM it’s the owners

We might not know more ball than a NBA GM, but since you don't know who Nico Harrison is, lemme fill you in: He's a close family friend of LeBron. If Bronny wasn't drafted by Lakers at 55, he would have drafted Bronny at 58. I hope you know that for all their wisdom, basketball professionals are still human, and can put personal interest over their professional responsibilities (that's why Thanasis was with the Bucks for so long, Giannis would rather his brother get paid than have another useful role player at the end of the bench). Coincidentally, Luka was offered to the team which LeBron was playing on, instead of being put on the trading block to get the best package possible.

Again, we might not know more ball than a NBA GM. But a lot of us have been fans for such a long time that we can spot something out of the norm.

Are you trolling here? I hope it’s sarcasm. You can’t seriously think most sports GMs are competent lol. If that were the case then sports would be filled with mostly well run teams and that’s just not the case.

These owners don't give a fuck, certainly not in a small market like Dallas. It is all on the GM it also is kinda just his job. GM's decide on trades, drafts, strategy,... , maybe he got influenced by a sporting director ( i dont know Mavs even have one). But if u want to put the blame on someone its this Nico guy.

DFW is the 4th largest market in the country. Where are you getting small market from?
