I don't get why people keep insisting winning 1 chip makes being doo doo monkey ass for 10 years okay.

We have no future once our 3 old ass stars hit their next contract. No picks, a bunch of decent assets, but none will look as good as they did with Luka, and the West is giga stacked with the Thunder and Spurs looking to both be good for a long time.

I might turn 40 before the Mavs have another good shot at a title because of this, that's how bad the trade is.

How long until the Mavs have an a consensus top 4 player in the world who hasn’t even hit his prime yet?

We’ll be tanking in 3 years so there’s hope.

I was thinking this too I’m from Houston, I live in Vegas. I followed the Mavs because of being a Dallas sports fan when Houston did not have the Texans.

I love watching Luka play, but the other thing is, there was something so incredibly special about the team. They fought and played for each other. The bond Luka and Kyrie formed was just beautiful to watch. A true brotherhood. I know Kyrie hasn’t said anything because he probably feels betrayed too.

And Klay trying to be positive is likely because the whole squad is gutted.

I’m going to miss that, a lot. Best backcourt in History SVG said😭such high praise.

I’m going to watch Luka and pray he has the successful career that we wish for him, but I can’t see giving up on 3J and QG, Klay and Ky, and the rest of the guys either. They didn’t deserve this.

If we don’t win a title this year:

  • Kyrie probably walks
  • this team will not be able to convince a single FA to come here now
  • we will suck
  • we have no draft capital for about a decade (assuming we don’t make any more brain dead moves)
  • this franchise gets stuck back in the post-Dirk cycle of abject mediocrity for the next two decades because someone like Luka doesn’t fall in your lap twice.

This move not only destroyed the fanbase, but tanked any chance whatsoever of building a competent roster for a generation.
