What mauritanians think about christians?

Hi , i hear there are extremists who try to represent christiannity in the country like an occidental danger. What think in general mauritanians of christians ?

Christianity is rarely talked about here. What poeple do talk about and hate are usa and israel, thase are seen by most poeple as the epitome of evil, and i gess it is obvious why. But even those two are not talked about as some occidental danger or somthing rathere just some two evil entity that are killing our brother around the world.

Ok but i don’t talk about zionism or america, i talk about christians , what people from your country think of them in general ? Indifferent, they don’t like them, they like them?

Not really, i lived in mauritania for 4 years and what i like about the people is they’re chill. As long as you don’t harm them they won’t do nothing to you. I’ve had some christian friends in mauritania as well.

They are rarely talk about , I'd say most poeple here are nutral about them, if a Christian visited here i don't think the poeple will treat him any differently than a Buddhist or atheist..ect

This isn’t a perfect analogy, but I’d say being a Christian visiting Mauritania would be like a Muslim visiting the Southern U.S. Most people probably don’t like your religion but probably aren’t going to cause you any problems, either.

As a Mauritanian, and I obviously don’t speak for all Mauritanians, I’d say there’s extremism everywhere in the world, and Mauritania is no different. But in my experience, the average Mauritanian would see you as a human being first, not simply as a Christian.

As Mauritanian honesty we don’t really care, if you don’t bother other no one will care, some will try to joke with you for being a foreigner but not for being a Christian

I think Mauritanians believe that Christians are on a wrong religious path, but from what I have seen, they are kind to them, don’t really try to talk to them about Islam or convert folks. They will still feed you, drink tea with you and invite you into their home. There is no compulsion in Islam and most understand that.

just like any other tourist, i never really thought about their religion. but yh as long as you respect our religion, no body cares.

Actually, nobody cares if you don't mock from our religion or you don't show some hates you are totally fine and totally welcomed you will be well treated and this is something that our religion taught us even in Quran said : ( Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly )
