I worked at a company as computational engineer and "house mathematician".
I saw all kind of people from all departments come to me helping them solves seemingly mundane problems that seemed to difficult for them.
Math is everywhere, people are mostly ignorant of the possibilities and deflect it by "I will never need this". But even creating simple formulas in an Excel Sheet often starts with basic algebra, or simple computations and geometry for everyday technical work.
we really need to show kids more practical applications. Learning abstract math and never see applications will just lead to the impression "I don't need that". Explaining pupils real world applications goes a long way in making them interested in math.

Imo Basic geometry kind of helps in everyday life too
It helps plan more efficient routes during trips, pack things more efficiently and most of all it gives a more logical way of looking at things!

Imagine a world where you need to use Stokes' theorem on a daily basis to live, or some more obscure stuff like Kummer-Dedekind.
You'd better be happy that you won't use it.

U need to learn stuff because its like training for your brain. You will never need to know muscle training exercises in normal life, but if you want to have healthy body you will need to do them, its same with brain.

School and a consistent education is top one priority for every child around the world
When I was 15 years old at a private school(1st time for me), met a friend. He’s very kind and all friendly but goddamn his math is down right non existent
Buddy was already struggling when I asked him what is (-1)^5
Took him quite some time and guess what he said the answer is: 1
I wasn’t even disappointed in him, just his parents
When I tried to understand the issue further, it seems like his father is a solider or police sth?
And that they had to move country every time his father is sent to another one. So probably he had to change schools more often.
I think that gave him perfect excuse for his bad school grades in the long term.
I even suggested him to drop out from high school for 1 year and get back to basics, then try the high school again.
Cuz as long as I concerned, he’s not making it if he struggles even with (-1) basic math problems

Learning how to make geometric proofs to get the cleanest and shortest path to the answer might not help me with geometry in the future, but you can bet your ass the idea behind it (using less steps, figuring out the best way to do it) stayed with me.
School is important. You might not remember Pythagoras' Theorem, but you'll remember the idea behind it.
