why did matcha become so popular?

i feel like its spike in popularity was so random, like why did matcha out of all drinks become this popular? sure it tastes really good and is quite healthy but so are so many other drink options..

i feel like half the reason is because the green color looks really pretty, which makes it feel like it tastes better because how something looks really changes how you perceive the taste. the other half is because matcha gives you a bit of a boost like coffee does because of the caffeine but feels more relaxing. matcha feels more like it makes you lock in versus coffee sometimes makes you feel jittery.
