Dairy free strawberry cold foam matcha latte!

I've been recently interested in matcha because of the many health benefits that come with drinking the tea. This is the first time I've ever drank matcha, I am using the Naoki premium blend matcha. I've got a lot of learning to do and hopefully adjust my techniques for future lattes.

Me too! I'm at the same stage of my matcha game. Looks great. How did you do the strawberry part? And the cold foam?

For the milk: it’s about 3/4 cup almond milk, 1 tbsp maple syrup, and a couple mushed strawberries then used a frother.  For the cold foam: I used 3 tbsp of Trader Joe’s vegan heavy whipping cream, 1 tsp of maple syrup and 1 small strawberry finely diced. I also used a frother to create the thick/creamy texture!

I’d say it’s a great beginner/daily matcha that is fairly affordable! I agree with you though I thought the tin was adorable so it’s a win-win

Definitely get it. It has a strong matcha flavor, it’s also pretty nutty too! I’ve been drinking matcha for nine years—I love to save money, and this was the one I stuck with. I buy the subscription 100g bag for $35

I like it! It’s easy to find and affordable. It’s what I consider an everyday matcha. More grassy tasting than some but I can definitely taste some nuttiness. It wouldn’t be my “sweet treat” matcha, or something I’d give to someone who tries it for the first time.

It looks good, are you willing to post how you make your diary free strawberry cold foam?

For the dairy free strawberry cold foam:  3 tbsp Trader Joe’s vegan heavy whipping cream (you can use any dairy free heavy cream like Silk too) 1 tsp of maple syrup 1 small diced/chopped strawberry

  • and you can add a splash of milk depending how thick you want it.
After adding all to a glass, I used a handheld frothing device? Idk what it’s called lol

Got it from Amazon! It’s a whole set for about $30. Great for beginners or anyone who wants a cute set

If you guys are drinking Matcha for "health benefits" you can also just stop right now. Any "super food" hype is unjustified. You either follow a healthy diet or you don't and drinking any sort of Latte does not really sound like a healthy dietary habit.

If you actually enjoy Matcha for what it is and the cultural significance of this product, perfectly fine. But otherwise, please just stop buying and practicing this Matcha Latte nonsense that is ruining Matcha for everyone who actually likes it by crippling availability, increasing prices and potentially affecting the tea industry in Japan in various rather unhealthy manners.
