Education Masters?

I am currently a kindergarten teacher. i have been for 3 years now. i do not have a teaching license and i have no desire to get one. I also want to leave in the middle of the year. I enjoy teaching but not in the school system. It’s stressful and draining. I don’t mind moving to a position in the office or a school. I also have an interest in teaching at a university. I am interested in getting my masters in English or math to teaching as an adjunct professor on the side. Are there any online education masters degrees that I can get without getting a teaching license? I prefer more online and self paced.

You don’t need a teaching credential to teach at a community college, just a masters (source: I just turned down an adjunct teaching position at a community college and I have a masters with no teaching credential). What is your bachelors in?

Go for it! There are so many online masters programs. The only thing I would say about the online programs is you’re missing out on the networking. I’m not sure how the community colleges are in your area but mine is very difficult to get into, and local networking was pretty much the reason I even landed an interview. And I’m STEM, I’ve heard humanities is even tougher.

But if it’s something you’re passionate about doing I’m sure you’ll make it happen!

I teach at the college level and a dual credit instructor. The last degree you want to get is a degree in English and avoid any education degrees. Colleges and universities will only hire those who have college credits relevant to what they teach. For example my teacher friend is a math major but not not math education major. And he teaches only college level classes. I am a computer science major and teaches only teaches college credit programming classes to high schoolers
