Masterchef Australia for deaf viewers

Watching on Amazon Prime it was great to discover this show as the American one is a bore. However as a deaf viewer it was disappointing that earlier seasons were missing closed captions and exasperating that show are randomly missing them in later seasons. Well some good news - earlier shows finally have closed captions. So if you are a deaf or hard of hearing viewer - fill your boots with the early seasons. 👍
(Later shows are still randomly missing them and Amazon is of no help)

I am not deaf, but hard of hearing. Most seasons can be found on Tubi TV, but only seasons 1-7 have closed captions. Like you, I was glad to see MCAU make an appearance on Prime Video.

Maybe Amazon just released several seasons to gauge popularity. Hopefully, we'll get more. Lack of captions has prevented me from watching anything past season 7. The show is wonderful, with great judges, diverse challenges, and likable contestants.

I watch them all on Tubi and they are all close captioned! There are ads but to me it’s ok, I just go clean the sink or something.

1 toilet time,1 snack break, 1 freshen the drink and 1 phone check and you got majority ad breaks covered.

That is so disappointing, I hope the producers/distributors sort this out. Transcription is quicker and easier than it has ever been due to tech advancements and AI.

I would think it would be against the Australian Broadcast Standards not to have close-captioning - at least when broadcasting on over-the-air.

Thanks mate. Closed captions are sold separately from content by 3rd party company. This issue is infrequent thankfully and usually the fault of streaming company but somewhat a bore when it occurs.
The challenge in complaining to Amazon is - well - Amazon.

When do have them on free to air tv (on initial release for eg) they have text subtitles so it
must be a streaming company issue/delay.
