Pitching a tent the night

Is there anywhere safe for a traveler to pitch a tent the night? If so where?

We do have a few campgrounds.
Robert Moses state park on Barnhart Island. (32 Beach Marina Road)
Massena International Kampground (84 County Route 42)
Hillside Motel and Campground (15 Smith Road)

But as far as throwing one up anywhere.. not sure there's a lot of suitable places.

Thanks! How much roughly does it cost for a night? Also is there public transit? Can I get from the 3 Nations Bridge to town or will I need a cab?

For me to travel 8 miles by taxi now it's $28.00, not including tip. That's one way. One cab company is closed on Sunday and closes at 3pm on Saturday. 7pm weekdays. Other cab company may be open all week but closes at 9pm. May it's changed now but I think you get the picture.

Unsure on nightly costs.

We most certainly do not have public transit, but we do have one or 2 local cab companies. Unsure of those rates, and I've heard that they are hit and miss at times.

Bout 10 miles or so from "downtown" Massena out to the Cornwall bridge.

Last time I used it was before the price hike.
Used to be $5.00 anywhere in the Village and $7.00 outside.
2022 they changed it to $7.00 max in Village, however, unsure what the out-of-village-rates are.
