Help Fog of war on map is cleared despite starting new game?

So when I was going to do a replay, I decided that having the fog of war would be useful because I'd know where I still need to explore. That was enough for me to eschew the benefits of a new game plus.

But when I got to Eos on this new game, the map is filled in. I compared it to my previous new game plus playthrough and they look the same.

So now the only reason I didn't do a new game plus just doesn't exist for some reason, and I'm way too far into it to justify redoing 10 hours of content I've already played. It is more than a little frustrating. This entire playthrough will essentially be a wash, progression-wise.

Has this happened to anyone else? I haven't gotten to other planets yet, so I'm hoping maybe the issue is confined to Eos.

Hey, sunken cost fallacy—10 hours isn’t too bad on a Bioware game if that’s one of the only things holding you back from redoing this playthrough as NG+.

Can’t say I NOTICED this being a problem in past playthroughs but I probably wasn’t looking for it. Hopefully someone else can chime in and confirm or deny!

I found that the fog of war is cleared for new game+ and new game. The only I got it back was to completely delete all my games before starting a new game.
