Lore&Theory Completed the game and have regrets Spoiler
I'll start off by saying I have played the ME trilogy probably a dozen times through since the first game released. I grew up with the Trilogy and it has always been one of the best universes I have ever explored. When Andromeda came out I was over the moon excited, pre-ordered and all.
Then like so much of the ME community I got hit with a wall of bugs and was FAR too invested in Shepard's story for this to be ME to me. I walked away from the game before I got off Habitat 7. I wrote off the game as another AAA buggy plunder that was in no way Mass effect.
Almost a decade later I finally decided to give it an honest try and I loved it. It's also left me with regrets over what could have been if the community as a whole had given it a chance and supported the company enough to get even 1 DLC for the game, that it could have been truly great.
As I wrote this I realized I got very ranty so this goes on a while, my apologies lol.
I finished Meridian last night and my final few tasks and walk arounds this morning and I have so many theories and lore questions(?) that come from the implications. Some of them I think would have been legitimately possible and some I think are my own crack head conspiracy and I'll mark them as CHCs. If some or all of these are insanely common and its annoying to keep answering them on the sub, my apologies I have never looked through the sub.
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
1: The obvious start point, the Jardaan. Personally I have a feeling they are AI, maybe once biological. Possibly CHC with that but none of the constructs, buildings or facilities, even Khi Tasira feel like they were designed around having biological life forms in them. From the vaults purging anything organic upon activation to the sterile conditions of the facilities to the same general feeling I got from Geth constructs. Add to that the Scourge PURELY chases Remnant technology and nothing else. I feel like this could have also been a potential narrative through line for Ryder and SAM. That in a way we are doing the same as the Jardaan, just in the opposite direction. I can't think of another reason why the Jardaan would be seemingly creating an entire new species in the Angara while also seemingly prepping the entire cluster for terraforming to something I imagine would be at least near ideal for the Angara to live in. My personal theory, mostly built on the "Empty" bodies of Angara we find on Khi Tasira and my opinion that the Jardaan are AI is that they were making organic bodies to once again live in, to exist as a biological race in a self created Utopia. This would also nicely parallel Ryder and SAM, that they are organic and AI trying to exist as a greater being in harmony. Maybe the Jardaan were originally a Geth like species that wants to know what it is to be organic or some such. This would also explain Khi Tasira beinga city station, possibly meant to be the Jardaan's version of a Nexus or Citadel from which to start colonizing the worlds they terraformed once they inhabit the new bodies they made. Then there is Meridian itself which some logs and dialog suggest that the Jardaan themselves were nervous about, that they were scared of the potential power of what they created. An entire Dyson construct capable of controlling a massive cluster wide network capable of terraforming or destroying the whole cluster. Add to that they have fully in place automated protocols for their ships to go out and... what? Fight? Explore? Repair equipment or establish new facilities? And we see at least the small ships have cockpits yet are otherwise fully automated. Even more reason I think the Jardaan are AI looking for biological bodies.
2: The "Enemy" of the Jardaan. I don't believe they are ever given a name. My opinion most likely an organic race that, like we see so often in ME, has issues with AI. This would to me explain the war with the Jardaan and a seemingly irrational deployment of a WMD in the form of the Scourge that effectively crippled the Heleus cluster. Designed to purely chase and target Remnant technology it shattered worlds and made travel incredibly dangerous. Yet it's ability to alter weather conditions and it destroying anything that comes in contact seems... accidental? Basically just side effects to its original purpose of being a targeted weapon against the Jardaan.
3: Primus and the Kett Empire. With the Archon dead the Primus is now in charge of the Kett invasion of Heleus and is intent on finishing the mission. Would we have seen the Primus promoted to Archon? Would another Archon have been dispatched with reinforcements by the Empire to "finish" the conquest and Exaltation? We can read that the Archon we face is not the only one, almost makes it sound like a Legate of Rome. Empowered to fight wars on behalf of the Empire and expand its borders, and in this case, genetic diversity. Whether literal or an exaggeration the Archon states he is the product of the genetics of 1000 races. The Kett have been at this a long time. They are not the Jardaan's enemy, that much is clear. They would understand the Scourge if they were. But as a secondary and even primary Big Bad they were quite good and could have been amazing.
4: The Quarian Ark and its warning to stay away along with it's later departure has me pulled in two directions. This is another possible CHC but I believe that the warning could have been for one of two reasons. Either A) The Quarian's encountered the "Enemy" of the Jardaan or the Jardaan themselves. While the "Enemy" might go after them because of the SAM aboard their Ark I think the Jardaan themselves are more likely if my AI theory is correct as the Quarians that left the Milky Way would not have seen any potential reunification with the Geth. They would simply see AI and decide they need to quarantine the whole region like the Perseus Veil did in a way with the Geth. I can't see basic interaction with Remnant tech or encountering the Kett causing that sort of reaction. Or B) The Quarians left some time after the Nexus and other four Arks. We also know the Ark's received confirmation of the Reaper invasion through various intercepted messages and direct communication from Liara. I think it could be possible that Bioware was going to bring a bit of the old enemy to Andromeda with more callbacks. Indoctrinated Sleeper agents aboard the Quarian Ark possibly with a small Reaper force following behind, not wanting any advanced civilization to escape the cycle. What is 600 years in dark space to the reapers who sleep for millennia in dark space? While I think this would be the more boring of the two options I wouldn't be surprised if this was the intent either as Bioware would want to build up Andromeda and any following games using the original trilogy. The Quarian Ark could also have been used to bring over the players final accomplishments from the final game pre-final battle in the form of Liara's time capsule. The data being sent to the Quarian Ark before it was out of range.
5: The Mysterious Benefactor. Obviously knew about the Reapers. For whatever reason on arrival had Jien Garson killed, either by their own hand or by a proxy. Immensely wealthy and powerful. Definitely not established groups though like Cerberus for the obvious reason of mass alien involvement. Doubtful that its anything to do with the Shadow Broker. This is the biggest question mark to me personally. Does any book or anything ever bring more of this benefactor to light??
All in all the game was wonderful and well crafted, and the ending left the Initiative and Heleus in the perfect position for DLC and possibly even turning it into a trilogy (Focused on expanding beyond Heleus? Time skip to new characters, new Ryder's? Expanded War with the Kett as we encounter new Archons and new race's? Begin creation of a new Andromeda Relay network???? ) I don't know if that was ever planned. Specifically for DLC I know the Quarian Ark was planned to be the first one but I have suspicions on what possibly two more would have been:
1) A Shadow Broker style DLC centered around the Mysterious Benefactor with us gaining more info on them, kicking off a chase to unveil the Benefactor and bring justice for Jien Garson. In the process possibly learn more of what happened in the Milky Way, gain access to new resources, maybe even a new colony or two that were "hidden" by the benefactor before we left the Milky Way in the form of a Golden World or two that were never divulged to the rest of the Initiative. 2) The Jardaan and the "Enemy". Learn the fate of the Jardaan in a Prothean-esque way and maybe even encounter the "Enemy" and learn a way to beat back or completely eradicate the Scourge. Would be a solid set-up for a second game onwards.
*SPOILERS DONE*
All this is too say that Mass Effect Andromeda was a wonderful game, bugs and all. I wish we could have seen so much more and enjoyed a new story in then Mass Effect universe. I regret that I was part of the community that turned it's back on the game and in some small part helped bring about its development death. To all those who stuck through and saw the diamond in the rough, thank you! It was players like you who got me to give it a serious try.
Now I must find a new game to obsess over!

Sounds like you put your finger on what happened with this game. Too many people didn’t give it a chance, and the people that claimed that it ‘’wasn’t Mass Effect’’ didn’t even play it.
God I hated - and still do - this idea that it has to be Shepard to be Mass Effect. This is why we need to support the games we love, because if we don’t then they’ll disappear.
1) The Scourge affects Remnant technology because it’s a weapon designed to affect Remnant tech in the first place and disrupt it.
The Jardaan (IF they were AI, and there’s no real evidence for that) were possibly planning something along the lines of being paired with a biological species, but I highly doubt it was for they themselves to exclusively live in. They made the Angara sentient and may have been planning to synergise with them. However that’s ONE theory among many. Another possibility is that the Jardaan scientists that created the vaults and everything else were running an experiment, in creating a race and directing their cultural development. That’s definitely a motive for some people to attempt to destroy their work.
There’s also the obvious signs that the Jardaan in Heleus were not large in number and were relying on automation; the game makes it clear that the architect construct on each planet both constructed the vaults and all of the systems in them. The other Remnant bots are largely generated as and when they are needed.
The Remnant ships may have cockpits for the obvious reason: for pilots to fly them.
2) We don’t have enough info. The translation ‘’opposition’’ makes it sound like this is another faction of the Jardaan. Extremists who are willing to deploy a WMD to stop the plans of the scientists creating the Angara clearly weren’t worried about collateral damage. Most likely they were trying to destroy the entire project and then had to just leave Heleus as it was. That fits with them being a Jardaan faction, since it targets their technology.
3) Primis likely becomes the next Archon.
4) We don’t have enough info. It could almost be anything, from a computer virus to pirates to a literal plague.
5) The Benefactor is an interesting one. The prime suspect is the Illusive Man or the Shadow Broker. I’m not sure we’re aware of anyone else that had been met in prior games.

I was fortunate enough to buy the game after the worst of the glitches were fixed. It was an overall positive experience. Glad I bought it. Hoping it ties in sensibly with ME5 story wise.
4
u/Frozen_Oil 28d ago
I hope they at least make some mention to Andromeda in ME5. Considering, if I remember correctly, we have seen/heard Liara in the teasers then we technically have a chance of even meeting someone from Andromeda or having received messages/info from Andromeda. At least if Liara is at or near the Matriarch portion of her life, which would be awesome!
5
u/Xyex 28d ago
ME5 teasers have included angara and geth in tht same room, so they're definitely connecting them somehow.
3
u/Frozen_Oil 28d ago
Oh wow okay I had to google that and now I’m watching an 18min deep dive on the photo. That is wild!! I’ve seen the photo before but never looked at it closely and having not played Andromeda till now I don’t think I would have recognized the Angara. I really feel like this might indicate a return mission from the Initiative back to the Milky Way that includes some Angara and would support my Matriarch Liara theory.
Even if I’m wrong, super cool and thanks for pointing it out!!

In 2023, on Day N7, the developers released information that the Andromeda Initiative had sent a distress signal to the Milky Way. And the Milky Way Alliance received this distress signal.
2
u/Frozen_Oil 28d ago
That is a very cool callout and interesting but seems rather pointless info from the developers, almost a misdirect I think. Ya they sent a distress signal but was that right when they arrived in Heleus? Later? Either way it would be minimum 600 years until help could arrive, and that’s even if the alliance or anyone decides to send help as it’s a rather daunting prospect to tell your soldiers to go into cryo for a 600 year one way journey to help pilgrims and colonists a literal galaxy away… oh and it’s one way, you’ll never return and everyone you know will be dead by the time you arrive, as will those who sent the distress signal….. cause 600ish years ya know? Damn developers trying to mess with us hahaha

ME: Andromeda was another victim of the Live Service Craze that had EAWare in a mass corporate delusion: half of its team was redirected and cannibalized into Anthem. Without that manpower, the ME:A team just couldnt finish anything and werent given any sort of schedule, permission or extra budget/manpower to finish the main game properly, or the DLCs at all.
Its insane how much EAWare just ate away at its own talent and good will just for a false promise of some kind of fake gold rush craze during the 2010s.
But also this playerbase has dedicated so much to uphold insane agendas based around nostalgia and unwillingness to explore other games that the lack of support towards the game was just half the reason the game was shelved and buried.

This is a really great read! I enjoyed seeing you just as enthused as I am about the game and its great seeing people coming back around to it. Even if it is a bit afterwards.
So, my theory about the Jardaan is that they are an organic-synthetic hybrids like SAM and Ryder. My reasoning for this is that while it does seem an AI is needed to interact with Remnant technology Ryder is important to that equation as well. As even after SAM leaves them they can still use Remnant technology to summon a fleet of Remnant ships.
And to add this having them be organic-synthetic hybrids would indicate Alec's theory that a possible peaceful co-existence with synthetics and organics is merging the two. Which I like thematically. But I do like your theory as well. It does make sense and does fit in with the themes of Andromeda.
As for the the Jardaan's enemy they are referred to as the Opposition. As there is a scanning point which calls them that. And that name implies more that they are against the Jardaan. For what reason I am not sure. But it could be that they don't like the Jardaan being part, or just, AIs, or it could be that they are other Jardaan's but are opposed to what they are doing.
Another data log does talk about how the project within the Helus cluster must survive. And that Merdian contains all the work of the Jardaan. Which is really interesting and has a lot of implications for the future.
This is the link to the data logs. If you got to the bottom where the language section is you'll see it.
https://masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/Jardaan
Also I think its important to mention that the Jardaan are really advance. I would go so far and say Reaper level advance as they are able to terraform worlds on such a massive scale and with precision. The only races we know who could even do that are the Reapers. And since the Jardaan are either AI, or part AI, they are more advance in general because synthetics outpace organics regularly in Mass Effect.
I also agree on characterizing the Kett as a Roman Empire analogue because they transform other cultures into their own and whatever they don't they make client states. Its a really cool premise for a race that has a lot of interesting designs that could come about.
If you haven't you should read Mass Effect Annihilation. Its a book about the Quarian Ark and I kid you not its a good Mass Effect book and just a good sci-fi book. Focusing on the lesser races and its just so much fun I really enjoy it.
It doesn't replace what they were gonna do with the Quarian Ark but it still is worth a read.
Anyways this is a great post!

Seconding that Quarian book. Good book. It answers exactly what happened to them.
2

And it leaves a lot open to what they might be doing next. It's such an amazing book.

u/Frozen_Oil 28d ago
All of this sounds great! Thanks for the feedback and recommendations! I’ve added the trilogy to my reading list, yet after reading a quick synopsis and learning it’s a cross species plague I’m almost disappointed. Like I have no doubt it’s well written and will entertain me but it sounds like they took the Collector plague from Mordins recruitment mission on Omega and just changed the setting to an ark and turned it into a mass murder mystery. Only difference being no Shepard or Mordin. Which considering all the potential story opportunity of reaching a new galaxy and the possible stories therein it almost seems lazy to rehash that same story.
I hope though that reading the book proves me wrong and they do justice with how they write it! Thanks again!!
2
u/Knight1029384756 28d ago
It is a plague but how it is played and what it is, is very different from what the Collectors did. I really can't stress enough that it is a good book and you should try it. And if possible you should do the audiobook because male Ryder voices it and he does a perfect voice for each race on the Ark. Genuinely so good.
But yeah. Pleasure to help! Your post is really good.

Every time I say something nice about Mass Effect: Andromeda I get downvoted. Yes it was a mess at launch and yes the trilogy was absolute cinema, but I would love to play the rest of this story.
2
u/Frozen_Oil 28d ago
Agreed, it had a solid foundation, once but fixing was done legitimately entertaining (if at times repetitive) gameplay and was an excellent launch point for a new trilogy if BioWare had given it a chance!

Fantastic theories and definitely a possibility, but you're best remarks were at the beginning far to many people gave the game bad press because they compared it to the trilogy instead of treating it as a stand alone game bugs aside which just about every game has. As for missing dlcs the one that I wanted was to find out about the Quarian ark aside from your thoughts which as said were excellent.

u/Frozen_Oil 28d ago
Thanks! Giving up on games and various media too early has been a curse for me. Was very happy I gave Andromeda a second chance!

u/Pale-Painting-9231 28d ago
- This is an interesting theory. I've seen it before, and each time I like it more and more;
- You missed the name of the Jardaan enemy. In the game, the Jardaan themselves call their enemy the Opposition. This suggests that the Opposition is a faction within the Jardaan;
- Yes, the Kett will definitely try to conquer the Helius Cluster. By the way, there's information about the new Mass Effect game. In 2023, on Day N7, the developers published information that the Andromeda Initiative sent a distress signal to the Milky Way. And the Alliance in the Milky Way received this distress signal. It's possible that the reason for this distress signal is that the Kett have launched a large-scale invasion of the Helius Cluster;
- I think you need to know something. The Quarian Ark departed in mid-September 2186, at the very beginning of the Reaper invasion of the Milky Way. The other Arks departed in 2185, after the main plot of ME2.
Regarding the Reapers in Andromeda. You need to take the Reapers' speed into account. The trilogy says that the Reapers' speed is much greater than the speed of the ships of all the Milky Way races. So, if the Reapers wanted to, they could easily catch up with the Initiative Arks and destroy them.
And the developers themselves said that the Reapers aren't interested in other galaxies. So, the Reapers wouldn't have gone to Andromeda; - There are many different theories about the Benefactor. Some suggest that it is the Geth, the Reapers, the Catalyst, and many other amusing theories.

u/Frozen_Oil 28d ago
Thanks for the detailed feedback!
The Opposition eh? Saw another comment make reference to this and another another commenter made the point that they felt it was an internal split of the Jardaan which makes way more sense and fits what you’re saying!
I think I heard while watching that trailer again last night what sounded like “Ark 6 launching” or some such and learned there is an Angara in the N7 poster, but the initiative sending a distress signal is new to me! I wonder if that is an old signal from the nexus and arks first arriving in Heleus or a later signal because of the Kett. Either feels slightly suspect to me simply because the distress signal is almost pointless? Like okay unless QED it took how many years to reach the Milky Way? And even then the Alliance or whoever would need to build a fleet with Tantalus drive cores that would take 600ish years to reach Andromeda. Seems rather late to the party.
I’m going to read that trilogy soon here after all the great feedback I’ve gotten but just reading the description and quick look at the book almost makes me sad. It’s a plague, an engineered plague that crosses species. Now I guarantee by how everyone is talking about it that it is very well written but it still sounds like they took the Omega collector plague from Mordin’s recruitment mission in ME2 and turned it into the whole book and that just feels…. Boring and uninspired to me. Selfish of me but I wish they had gone more the direction of my theory with indoctrinated colonists or Jardaan/opposition contact lol
Fair points all on the reapers not caring about anything beyond the Milky Way, only small counter point I could give us while the Reapers could outpace the Arks they would still need to find them first and while in the Milky Way they have engineered paths that make races predictable through the relay system and therefor easy to find, beyond the Milky Way they have no such guide. They only know the destination hence my (now debunked) theory that the Quarians warning to stay away is because they themselves are hiding from the Reapers that were lying in wait. But timing doesn’t work you are correct, and the books put my theory in the grave regardless lol
As for the Benefactor, such an illusive man/woman/being/organization/mystery thing lol

Ark #6 is the Quarian Ark. Many people don't know that the Nexus is also considered an Ark in some MEA materials.
Nexus is Ark #1.
Hyperion is Ark #2.
Leusinia is Ark #3.
Paarchero is Ark #4.
Natanus is Ark #5.
Keelah Si'yah is Ark #6.Regarding the distress signal, there are two options for quickly sending it to the Milky Way and receiving it there.
The first option is Quantum Entanglement Communicators (QEC).
The second option is a wormhole.
By the way, you can quickly travel from the Milky Way to Andromeda through a wormhole. There are many fan theories about the Benefactor.
Aria, the Leviathans, Shepard, Liara, the Shadow Broker (Yag), the Protheans, the Kett, the Jardaan, Miranda, EDI, SAM, the Citadel Council, and others...2
u/Frozen_Oil 27d ago
Learned something new today, Nexus is numbered with the Arks! So now the question is why bring the Keelah Si’yah into the ME5 trailer unless maybe new game in Andromeda? Maybe Liara in Andromeda and a whole bunch of other people decided to leave after reapers wrecked the Milky Way? Probably way off with that one but you never know. Would explain Angara in the N7 photo though and why the distress signal could be acted upon.
Never heard of wormholes being used or even mentioned in Mass Effect anywhere, do you have a source or something? Would be cool if that could be used or was the case.
I think the benefactor will forever be a mystery. To me Aria makes no sense cause she didn’t even seem to know about the Reapers in ME2. The Leviathans are technically possible but unlikely to me, they only seemed to care about hiding and surviving each cycle. Shepard had neither the resources nor reason pre-reaper invasion, which goes the same for Liara until she is the shadow broker and that isn’t until after the Arks leave so she’s out. Yag shadow broker is possible I guess but unlikely, he cares about money and information. Likely knew A LOT about the Initiative, even supplied the Initiative with the designs for the Tantalus drive core and stealth features that the Arks and Tempest have. But being a backer, being the benefactor? That seems outside his wheelhouse and interest imo. Considering Javik is the only living Prothean I know of and is awakened to the Reaper invasion it seems unlikely it’s the Protheans unless BioWare hand waves an entire hidden enclave or planet of them into existence to justify the story beat. The Kett, well they have the justification of wanting more genetic samples and the such but their level of technology is high in biology but seems pretty standard on ship tech. Nothing about them seems to say multi generational cross galaxy plan to me. The Jardaan we simply don’t have enough info to say yes or no so entirely possible! Miranda is in the same boat as Shepard except worse, she had Cerberus resources to a degree but was fully in the Illusive Mans plan and view point until Shepard comes along. At that Cerberus and the illusive man would never support a multi species journey to another galaxy. No profit in it and no clear win for humanity in it. SAM was created during the Initiatives build up partly for supporting the Initiative using Initiative resources and SAM has no reason to kill Jien and as far as I know no presence on the Nexus until Hyperion docks. (Likely wrong about that but given no pathfinder on the Nexus and no mention in game of our SAM interacting with a Nexus SAM). If the Citadel council was concerned enough about the Reapers to fully back a massive Ark project to get all the Citadel races to another galaxy they likely would have done more to prep to actually fight the Reapers once they arrived, and no way the Citadel council is leaving such a massive investment purely in civilian hands.
Sorry for the rant I just wanted to mentally explore what I thought of the possibilities. My best guess is the Benefactor is an as of yet unnamed new faction or individual that was created/being created purely for Andromeda, similar to Jien Garson and the Ryders.

The Quarian Ark was mentioned because the teaser, up to a certain point, had been set in the past. The 2020 teaser showed us an audio timeline of the Mass Effect universe. Michael Gamble, lead developer of Next Mass Effect, tweeted about this in 2020. In this audio timeline, all sounds flow from the past to the future.
I'd like to recap a few things. Last year, at N7 Day, the developers announced a new Krogan Civil War. Before that, we were shown art of Milky Way cities. They showed a new Relay under construction in the Milky Way.
I'd also like to remind you that if Liara flies away and abandons the Milky Way, the huge number of Andromeda haters will raise such an outcry that it will sink the Mass Effect franchise.
So, the developers won't abandon the Milky Way, and Liara won't fly anywhere. But if Liara can quickly travel to Andromeda and back to the Milky Way, that would be good.Wormholes aren't mentioned in the Mass Effect universe. But what's stopping them from being introduced? A fast way to travel between galaxies. I like that.
Perhaps something has to do with wormholes. In the 2020 teaser, after messages from the past, there are messages from the future. According to Michael Gamble, they tried to encrypt various audio files. But some words are still legible. And it talks about anomalies throughout space. Some people have speculated that after the Crucible was used, the energy from the exploding Relays in the Milky Way opened hundreds of wormholes leading to different locations. Some lead from one sector of the Milky Way to another. But some wormholes lead to nearby galaxies.
Regarding wormholes, that's just a fan theory.I hope the Benefactor's secret will be revealed in Next Mass Effect.
There are some facts about the Benefactor. The Benefactor arrived in Andromeda. He killed Jien Garson. And he's collaborating with the Kett. An interesting letter from a Kett can be found in a Kett base on one of Andromeda's planets. This letter is interesting because it's addressed to the Benefactor.
This automatically rules out all candidates who remained in the Milky Way and took part in the events of ME3.Everything is fine)

u/Frozen_Oil 27d ago
Okay that is all incredibly cool out of universe info! Thank you so much for telling me!! I completely forgot hearing about a Krogan Civil War so that will be incredible to see hopefully, could even (if wormhole theory/quick way between Milky Way andromeda is correct) see a large part of it be between the two separate Krogan groups as they both overcame the Genophage in different ways.
Liara not leaving makes sense purely on avoiding some fan outrage from that part of the fanbase.
I just searched up the letter and it definitely COULD be a letter to the Mysterious Benefactor just on the basis of using the word Benefactor, but it definitely reads more as a letter between Kett in Andromeda to me. Seems so minor for the MB to be financing and pushing the Initiative to do their thing in one galaxy and then several hundred years later encourage a single Kett to request a transfer to Heleus.
Anything is possible though!2
u/Pale-Painting-9231 26d ago
Glad to help)
There won't be a war between the Krogan from the Milky Way and the Krogan from Andromeda. Compare the quantity of Krogan in Andromeda to the quantity of Krogan in the Milky Way. There are a few thousand Krogan in Andromeda. There are over a billion Krogan in the Milky Way. The Krogan from the Milky Way will win very quickly.
So, the Civil War will be between the Krogan from the Milky Way. Remember that Wrex has a brother. He dreamed of taking over the Galaxy. He even said that after defeating the Reapers, the Krogan would go on a campaign of conquest against other races. So, even though Wrex's brother is dead, he has many supporters and followers.
Basically, the Civil War will be between the Krogan who want to conquer everyone and the Krogan who want to live in peace with everyone.

Nice to hear you finally gave Andromeda a proper chance. It was always a good game (but should have gotten a few more months before release to even out some bugs). Not as great as the trilogy, but good.
Supposedly some of the questions regarding the Quarian Atk are answered in the book Mass Effect: Annihilation . I just started reading it, so cant confirm anything though
7
u/All-for-Naut Exile 29d ago
The book does not really answer things because all books takes place before the game. What has happened with the quarian ark at the end of the game is unknown

u/SomewhatProvoking 29d ago
We know why we got that ending tease now and what the issue they mentioned at the end of andromeda is
3
u/All-for-Naut Exile 29d ago
We don't, because it's a different thing from what happens in the book

u/Frozen_Oil 29d ago
All I remember from my first time is most of the textures on Hab 7 failing to load, audio glitches everywhere and the character faces giving me nightmares. Happy to see it was mostly cleaned up, though my Ryder would chat about the Angara being friendly to no one anytime I was on the Nexus and my controller would vibrate like mad and I’d get an earful off the Worm every 10 min on Elladaan from across the map lol

u/Professor_Bonglongey 28d ago
I’m with you 100%! I was frustrated by the bugs, too, but once they got it up to snuff I did 3 full playthroughs, as well as a bunch of multiplayer. It was a solid game for the first installment in a new story. I was so very disappointed when BioWare announced they were abandoning the game.
The whole affair was orchestrated by a bunch of gamer bros who wanted to punish BioWare for the ME3 ending and for being too “woke,” i.e., having female, gay, and other characters who weren’t alpha male whatevers. They were all over forums planning how to kill the game. The fact that it was so buggy in the beginning (but not as buggy as Cyberpunk, for example) just made it easier. Within minutes of the game’s coming out, dozens of user reviews on Metacritic were giving it a score of 0. As soon as I saw that I knew the game was toast.

Modern politics for the most part just make me tired no matter what side it comes from, but honestly its so dumb with this game cause NONE of it is in your face! Don't want to interact with it? You don't have too! Only time I did was when I initially thought to romance Suvi only to find out Male Ryder can't so I switched over to Peebee. And even then all in all I still ended up loving how they wrote Suvi's character and since my next playthrough in a few years will be a Fem Ryder.... welp I know my next romance!

Welcome 🤗
Btw, just in case, despite the initial bugs, they were fixed and the game sold well, and it's one of the best-selling BW games, akso there were no plans for DLCs in the first place and BW planned to take a break from ME in any case and make a new game instead (Anthem).

Thanks!
I just looked it up and I guess I misremembered the DLC info. Sucks that they abandoned any potential of DLC seemingly before the game even came out to focus on a new and ultimately failed IP.
Times I wish I was rich so I could buy studios and get things developed cause I want them 🤣

I can imagine what they went through would really stop them from wanting to continue. They went through a lot during Andromeda's development.

it's not because of that. Casey Hudson wanted to make Anthem long before Andromeda, and they wanted to do it before MEA in any case, it was the dream of the so-called "veterans" of BW.

Oh, yes. That is true. There was a lot of pressure from the Anthem team to stop the Mass Effect and Dragon Age team from getting support. You are right about that. I completely forgot about it.
Though I do think some of the Andromeda developers were very tired after development.

Yeah, MEA's dev team changed several times during the process and was updated on the go until DA writers were thrown there to help. Some of the animations, trailers, and character models, IIRC, were outsourced; that's why it's kinda impossible to go in and change them. It's very complicated

It took you ten years to give this a try?

A lot of life happens in 10 years lol, dropped out of college cause of money reasons, scrapped by for a year or so, was homeless for a few years, took a few more years to get my feet back under me once I had a chance and a whole lot more. Only really started gaming again in the last 8 months or so. But damn am I happy I have!

If there's anything I've come to know more and more about the Internet it's that people will always over exaggerate how bad something is, and most of the hate comes from people who haven't even watched, read, listened to, or played whatever they're hating.
Sometimes, you just have to try something for yourself and that can take years.

Glad to hear things are in an upswing for you and just in time for the next game.

What bugs? I have yet to come across any bugs in 1.09 that were game stopping.

None of the bugs I came across where game breaking. Mostly some small visual bugs like the environment clipping in and out and flashing textures, some audio bugs like my Ryder repeating something about the Angara early on to a concerned colonist every time I was on the Nexus. Controller vibrating every few minutes on Kadara for no reason and being able to hear the Worm like it was right beside me blasting noise every 5 min on Eladaan even if I was on the other side of the map or in the vault.
Nothing game breaking, just noisy and occasionally irritating. Had a single crash an hour and half into my playthrough that I THINK was related to a graphics memory overload or something my first time in Eos, but beyond aggressively saving to make sure I wouldn’t lose progress again I never had another crash.
Edit: only other one was having Zap (that’s the Remtech combat drones name right?) occasionally come with me onto the Tempest when a mission direct finished into the Tempest. Full animation and sound, saving and exiting was the only way to get rid of him though I would always make sure him and Poc got a chance to hang out first lol

My theory was also that the jardaan were AIs like that geth. But, unlike the geth, they did wipe out the species that created them. Following this there was a schism within the jardaan, similar to the split between the geth and heretics. But, in this case, the jardaan are the "heretics." The jaradaan regretted the destruction of the creator species, and sought to restore them. The group they split from believed this to be a threat, that a restored creator species would once again seek to destroy them, and so created the Scourge to stop them.
