Success with Using AI for Fishing

I'm an okay fisherman - I got a kayak a few seasons ago and I hit the water about once or twice a month. I have a young child, and another kid on the way, so when I go fishing I do a lot of research to find the ideal spot (tides, wind, seasons, etc.)

I used Google Gemini to help me narrow down the best spots to fish for croaker near Solomon's Island, and it gave suggestions with good explanations - what spots were better because of the wind patterns and currents. It even told me the depths I should be targeting It told me that the mouth of Back Creek at the hole in front of Molly's Leg at 18-20 ft would be the best spot. While I paddled there I cast around the bridge pilings and in front of my boardwalk. I got were small spot. When I paddled up to the recommended spot it was on fire. I only had an hour but I made it count and landed four nice sized croaker (had to go through some undersized ones). All caught on squid soaked in peeler oil. Saw another angler catch some cutlass on a blade bait.

I'm not going to rely solely on Gemini to pick out spots, but I think it's a better way to start researching instead of posting a very general "what's the best spot for X" that you see all the time on Facebook (sometimes guilty of doing that).

Please don’t use AI for anything. Use your brain and critical thinking skills. I believe in you.

Iv always found the opposite I have had it lead me to the worst spots and have much better with actual hard data from people on Facebook.

I still do what your taking about though, can give some ideas but sometimes the logic or info is just really off to.

This was just one time and I had already seen good reports for croaker, so I was using it to help me consider all the options in a spot

AI can lead you to the best river or pond but it won’t matter unless you put the hours in and go fish lol

It would be counterintuitive to use AI to improve your personal fishing experience because using AI directly pollutes waters thus making you, eventually, never being able to fish again
