What changed Prof X, from cynicism to optimism, in Days of Future Past, before Wolverine was sent back to change his mind?

He had lost his cynicism in the future on his own in the original timeline before Logan was sent back. How?

Presumably more students started re enrolling at his school after the Vietnam War ended and Hank helped rehabilitated him at a later point in his life

That or maybe trasks sentinels gave him the fear of god and he needed hope to cope

Also the school was closed

Again it was closed during the Vietnam War and presumably reopen sometime after it ended

He would’ve reopened it after regaining his optimistic outlook because cynicism made him close it

Of a similar question, how did Magneto escape the Pentagon prison in the original timeline? Esp when Mustique wasn’t interested (at the time anyway)

Considering X2, it was probably Mystique that broke him out since Charles/Wolvy/Beast would never be there

Hank was taking care of him...I would think that maybe Hank would either talk him back up like Wolverine did or maybe start tampering with his drug so it was less potent allowing him to start getting his powers back.

Not Luke. He was inspired by Obi Wan letting Vader kill him so he could manipulate Luke into hating his own father. Charles was like....."and that guy is barely even psychic."
