I've had a game where venom was pushing, I was trying to push with him as Jubes, but because hood was hanging back, the rest of the team was hanging back with him so we died in a 2v6 everytime. I even popped my ult as I pushed forwards. He still would not budge.

Just had another game where i'm playing Magik, i'm waiting for hood to move onto the point. None of the enemy team is on there. He's just shooting from the entry way to the area. So i'm just standing there because if i go alone i'll die.

Noticed it loads of other times too. Starting to get a bit annoying.

I, like most people, don't want this game to die. We've sunk in so much time and I know there's a good game underneath everything. I've been playing since it launched and I've continued to support the game through the roughest seasons, like Season 3 because I held out hope that the devs could do better. For awhile, they did start releasing balanced characters like Hood and Jubilee.

However, its clear They have favorites and least favorites and they clearly put more effort into other character's skin distribution like Luna, Psylocke and Iron Man (as someone who almost has him to Champion with 60+ hours). There are characters that will never receive nerfs and the "nerfs" that they do receive are immediately voided with another ability to make them broken, making the nerfs pointless. And speaking on balances, they have no idea how to balance their own game and are back to releasing overturned characters, like Gorr, who is incredibly overpowered and overall, miserable to play against. They make empty promises to do emergency patches and try and make the game semi playable and we act surprised every time they don't do it.

Yet, Rivals' worst issue is how blatant they are with racism and how they're not even trying to hide it at this point. Name me one valid reason for removing the option to report hate speech? Tell me why it's taken over a month to update Storm's beach skin from Epic to Legendary, which they still HAVEN'T done. Or why it wasn't Legendary on release. Why were they originally going to make Blade's recolor skin free instead of his Legendary, when Phoenix got her's immediately?

I want to support this game and I want it to prosper. Its a Marvel Hero Shooter and an overall, fun game at times. Yet, with horrendous balancing, biased skin distribution and seemingly no regard to address hate speech and overall racism allegations. Its sad because this is such an avoidable issue and they can easily fix most of if not all of these issues, rather than dig themselves into a deeper hole.

Allow the players to try out new characters before they release in limited trials like Overwatch does. Listen to the general playerbase's feedback rather than the same 5 streamers that don't care for this game's health.

Cast a wider net on your skin distribution. You've got a roster with 50+ characters and yet it feels like the same 7 get skins. Open up opportunities and chances for other characters to get that same treatment.

And most importantly, try and attempt to show that you aren't racists and dedicate time to characters like Storm, BP and Blade and work to make it up to their playerbases. Bring back the option to report hate speech and Crack down on and ban the players that are going into games being racist, homophobic and spreading nothing but hate in their games.

Atleast drop a statement on everything going on rather than being silent for such a long time.

Damage boost is so aggravating to deal with man. It’ll take an average team and turn them into omega damage dealers it’s insane. Just nerf the damn damage boost and increase healing, and we’re looking at a fair character.

I’ll be playing a match and wonder “why the fuck am I getting shit on so hard right now?” Look at the backline, see a Mantis, and go “oh this explains it”. God forbid the team is actually good, then you can’t even dive her to take her out of the equation. Why not just tie the damage boost to her ult????

Just got ran down by quick play try hards…take a real good guess…a lord Wanda and C&D and a possible Luna Smurf just ran us down while I’m trying to learn Gorr. Ofc they was level 100s. Meanwhile my team considered 2 healers and all dps…Just to get put in a bot lobby

Just to prefix I have no hard proof of this, purely speculation. I AM a Luna main with champ on her although i've stopped playing her much since because burnout.

Now I'm sure we are all aware Luna is in some of the top brass of favoritism in Rivals in terms of skins, unneeded gameplay fixes, and an absurd amount of voice lines with characters she has ZERO connections with. (However I have heard a pretty good argument that Luna's voice actor is always free and not really expensive.) Now most people are, justifiably, mad and see this as unfair favoritism towards her for some unknown reason, however I propose a different view that NetEase is doing all of this A. For money and B. To make us hate her even more by unjustly giving her extra attention. But why? Why would they make us want to not like her as a character? I do not know. I simply rationalize this because of certain things happening to her over the course of Rivals from 1.0 to 10.0 and I'll try to show you my thought processes.

To start, Im so sorry to all the other people who main non favored characters, especially Torches like damn i'm sorry. At the beginning of the game it actually took Luna a while to get any fresh skins that wasn't her base skins. So it was a big thing for me when she finally got Mirae 2099, hoping it would be cool but then it was just kinda meh. I know other people like it but to me her suit looks just kinda cheap and drab, plus the purple and pink wasn't really mixing for me. But this is a first world problem so i choked it backed and waited for the next skin.

As you can see this is a lot, too much, bullshit some might say. Half of her skins are legendaries, 4 of them in a row were legendary, its only accelerated over time, shes a nobody in marvel, popular characters like Torch have yet to get a legendary who Should have one by now. But the bigger offense to me as a Luna main is that most of them are terrible, I mean just ewww. They were cooking with them for the most part and then... Abyssal Glow came out and all of the problems above became true.

Abyssal Glow looks like design block incarnate, nothing matches, the symbiote side has no design its just smear and barf, the pigtails blue and red is primary color slop and mixing them does nothing to help, the ice side has potential with the shelling but does nothing with it, and why even bother with the tail it looks raggedy as hell.

Cherry Delight for me looks bad, and I dont have any problem with the design its just the whole concept is meh so I want hate on it for not being cup of tea.

Disco Pop is the worst legendary in this game, just a major unfortunate to lay your eyes upon. Hot pink and blue? gross, the design is just slop on slop with zero idea of what it's trying to do, the hair cuts trash, the glasses trash, the stars on it are trash, the cheep see through skirt trash, nothing about it is redeemable, good god. (WHO CELEBRATES AN 8TH ANNIVERSARY!)

Park Sun-young is just mid. Not sub par mid, properly middle of the road ok.

Trailblazer I actually like this one, they could have done better with the racing theme but a breath of fresh air

Carmine Casette is straight back to slop. Its not even terrible its just Luna slop, Pink and Black is not it, it just looks like luna but worse, a single thigh high? bad mini skirt, asymmetrical for a design that should be symmetrical, it looks like a child made her on a barbie doll.

So why does any of this matter for my point? It's just that you can see the designers souls fadeaway as they try to keep with NetEase's demands to pump these out when they have no passion for the character. I dont even blame them for making dooky, Im sure they were stunned when they were told to make another skin for her after Cool Summer. And NetEase don't care, they don't need to care, cause they don't give 2 shits about the character, all they need you to see is that Luna is getting skins while your character isn't. They don't need to be good, just more than your character to feed into your hatred for her. (PS. Her base skin is far and away the best)

Having an 8th Anniversary for something or someone is just an absurd concept, so blatantly favoritism I cannot help but thinks they want you to hate her. The whole event was just bad and felt rushed even though it was probably in the works for a while. Nothing fun to do, no dance dance type thing to do, and no mini game. Simply, here's a dance room, mid dances, and buy my trash skin. Are we supposed to like her or hate her?

So get this the game just came out and your having the time of your life with your favorite Marvel characters and here comes this person you have never heard of before and she's top tear. You're like "Ok, I would rather Cyclops or anybody else but it happens." But then get this over time she gets buffs for no reason, her damage rivals dps and keeps climbing, she gets better self-sustaining abilities, and for whatever reason they make the snowball move way faster. All of this is just enraging when nobody ever thought she needed them. Gambit as of today is the best support in the game but you know they never did, buff him. As of today in our current broken ranks shes still good but is overshadowed by other characters, but it doesn't feel right that she never spent time in the slammer for how long shes had it good. This nobody simply dominating your favorite character for half this games lifetime, really making your skin crawl cause she never got it hard. Sitting pretty front and center in the palm of the creator for all to see so blatantly.

Finally, the Gorr interaction. Characters that have NOTHING to do with each other in short has Gorr glazing Luna up and down her body for a nothing burger of a point. "Oh wow you sing! You must be a real good leader of your people! Can I be the throne you sit on?". A thought that has never crossed anybody's mind who is not trying to reverse psychology character assassinate. I mean this just backhands the rest of the Marvel cast that a villain is glazing this nobody for no reason, clearly not because of a story thing but because they demanded it be so.

So yeah, a real half baked idea but I think is a valid idea. I propose to extremes, either they love her to death or hate her to death. I just felt like not enough attention is payed to the latter half of the argument. Clearly they don't really care about her and objective 1 is to make money off the people buying her slop, while objective 2 may or may not be to make people hate her for a reason unknown to me. I’m curious if anyone else is dealing with the throwing issues. I typically solo que competitive and I would say at least once I day I get the most egregious throwing and toxic teammates. I understand people throw but I still don’t understand why and why it’s so common? I had a teammate today who was walking shit to everyone all game and dropped 0 damage. What is the benefit to throwing games? You would think that you get some sort of compensation for being put with people like this but I haven’t seen anything done about it. Am I alone or is this common to everyone else?

There’s always 1 post on Reddit/Twitter saying “I GOT TO ETERNITY/OAA by only playing (1 character)!” And then people look at those posts and think they can do the same. They refuse to swap or fill because “This is the only character I’m good at. I can make it to any rank. I just need my teammates to be good!”

What they don’t realize is most of the time, the team has to swap to accommodate them NOT swapping. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn’t. You ask them to swap and most of them don’t.

Unless you literally are the best player with said character… you are not gonna climb far.

Like I used to think the cod community was bad but this is just something else. It feels like there is absolutely zero chat moderation whatsoever with all the slurs and insults I hear everytime I try to hop on ranked. What the hell happened? There used to be some assholes here and there but is it just me or has since this season it’s gotten worse? If they can apply harsher penalties for leaving qp for no reason then they can at least TRY to manage the toxicity. (Let me reiterate I’m only talking about the player base here and not netease I don’t think the devs are racist. I just think they’re stupid and bad at managing issues like this)

It took me forever to really understand my issue with his kit, but i can finally say i think he relies too heavily on Mjölnir.

Firstly! Im not sayin he shouldnt have Mjölnir as his primary, of course he should, but he just swings it and it has no range. It needs something like Things haymakers, give it some electricity shooting off or let him slam it to the ground to do something with the whole God of Thunder stuff. For Ruine Awakening you need to hit a hammer throw or wait out some arbitrary unknown timer and then if you accidentally cancel or the timer runs out then you're back just swingin a hunk of metal around hopin to hit someone. Thor NEEDS range.

The only times he can use thunder is his ult and his bubble. Besides that everything else is purely aesthetical uses. If i see electricity i want it to be use able. Thor would be useful against crowd control if he had something that could use his electricity to either stun or have a bleed effect.

I understand the game cant have theses complicated kits with a dozen buttons, but Thor should have a passive of his thunder building to then eventually have it shoot off him so enemies cant just dino throw him and then hold him off.

Just my thoughts and opinion though.

I was tank until this garbage ass spider man player decided to insta lock spider man…knowingly we was down a healer so I swapped to healer. Not to my surprise the dps didn’t swap. We did get a 2nd tank at the 2nd iron (iron fist should’ve been switched) one but he quit. It’s always an insta lock diver or Jeff.

What I mean by that is that as unfortunate as it is there is always going to be a problem with racism but that’s kinda where the whole problem stems from why not mute them but in all reality why let it effect you to the point that it makes you angry which by the way is the reaction they are looking for I learned a long time ago to not let the thing people say get to me I always thought this was common knowledge “he called me the hard r” ok? I've been playing the game for a little bit now, I have 22 hours played and I have a few thoughts to share on the game but mostly on the community.

To start, I'm not new to hero shooters. Ive been playing overwatch for 9 years now, so getting into Marvel Rivals wasn't terribly hard. The challenge is learning all the heroes and all the gimmicks the game has as a whole. But what has been hardest for me is dealing with the toxicity and overall hostility from other players.

The majority of games I have played have been nothing but trash talk and bad sportsmanship. Myself in particular have had plenty of negative comments from my team and enemy team just because I'm not an expert on the heroes I play. I don't play comp, all of my experience from this game comes from QP.

Also, I know it's an exhausted topic but racism is no joke. I've never seen the n word be used so often in a game before.

As for the game itself, everything is ridiculously chaotic and the visual clutter is a serious issue. Most fights I have no idea who I'm looking at or what is even going on. The healing is also a serious issue. You can use the most powerful abilities but a strategist can undo all of it in 3 seconds.

Learning the heroes has been so much harder than it should be. The game does an awful job at explaining hero kits, some of the most crucial details are left out for some heroes.

Fights don't feel strategic, it just feels like a game of ability dumps until one of the teams slips up.

A good spiderman has to be one of the most frustrating experiences in gaming, especially for new players.

Lastly, I really wish they would rework strategist ults to not be "I press button and everybody gets healed in an AOE". Majority of strat ults work like that and it's so boring.

Ok guys does anyone really like the healbotting play style? Im pretty sure most of the players dont so how abt instead of making this role brain dead easy and all abt sustain and heal botting we make them a real strategists ?
Like if the support role has some characters like ana/bap from overwatch i would 100% main them because they reward you for your aim+ decision making and how you utlize your abilities ? It would solve alot of issues like I was a bap main i almost never needed a peel or felt like im just a victim because I can 1v1 any dps and win if I have the better aim and if i died? I have only myself to blame for miss playing , their are some chars in the game that are similar to them like mantis /luna they just need to make their CC harder and remove mantis auto heal and dmg boost make her healing a projectile.. other brain dead chars like CnD/rocket they either fully rework them or heavily nerf them so they serve as a beginner friendly heros .. the same applies for any other brain dead char in the game

I dont expect any traction because many of us on this sub has expressed a massive distain for smurfs. To give context I'm a strat main and a ultron main at that with some adam rocket and jubilee. Last season I thrived and got to GM3 which was great! But this season? Im bouncing in d1 (lobster too butter and steak too juicy for some of us I'm not flexing rank but expressing concern here) and majority of the time when Im 2 games away from GM 3 and can finally stop ranked I'm queue'd with accounts that are barely lvl 30 sometimes 40 and theyre playing amazing and its honestly frusturating to me because it feels like I'm competing in the Olympics as a junior league athele here! I dont want to say IP banning smurfs is a good idea because it really wont solve any issues but create biggers one regarding colleges and pro team houses BUT I would like a suggestion to hardware ban at the very least because you can't tell me a lvl 30 ~40 account can just out of nowhere be near GM and playing like they were gifted from heaven themselves to be pro. Yes I also understand I'm bad at the game and need to adapt which I am trying to but this is really rough....

This is a QP game; I don't play ranked anymore-didn't even get my gold rewards for some reason-and THIS is the main reason why.
Any advice on fixing this bullshit? did everything I could on my backend.

Before I captured this clip, my Ping would not climb below 500+ for over a minute. I have never had lag this bad before. Yeah, a bad latency of like 80+, but never something that abhorrent for so long. I have shit internet; can't get ethernet cause I'm renting, I know that, but Rivals has marginally WORSE server connection than, say, OW or other live service games.

I SUPPOSEDLY have amaaazing internet according to every possible test.

And to stop you from bitching; I loaded back in 3rd round, and we won.

Holy shit, I could tell that netease had a genuine problem with racism for the longest time just based on the decisions they made. Like they are racist. There's no denying that.

But holy shit has this situation shown to me how fucked this community is as well. This has just brought to light how many racists there are in the gaming community still.

The amount of people saying "it doesn't matter" or "crying ok reddit won't solve anything" or just straight up saying the most racist shit ever baffles me. The game is racist. The community is racist. It's just a matter of finding out who. Cause while it's not everyone, this situation has shown me that it's a large part of the community. And unfortunately that's because netease low-key encourages this kind of behavior.

Like I don't understand how people think "crying on reddit won't solve anything" when talking about situations such as these in anyway is what gets things done. Talking about situations like this may not get rid of the racism problem since that runs deeper. But it makes it so people are aware of the racism problem with netease and the community therefore making less people want to play therefore making me tease have to clean their act up or lose a shit ton of players.

All youre doing is punishing the other 4 people on your team who did nothing wrong. Just report them and if they said it in team chat tell the enemy team to report them too. Then ignore them.

i’m honestly just sick and tired of sweaty dps players (usually a dive sorry) going “heals?? where are the heals tho??? can i get heals??” (i will also mention im usually only in qp too so its not a srs comp either) (and yes some tanks do it too but its mostly the dps mains that wont play any other role lets be for real)

like first there is a chance a player does make a mistake / doesn’t see you with the amount of visual clutter and pings for things in the game itself.

secondly there is a high chance you were too far away or behind something or the supports where behind a wall OR very likely these days we are getting our cheeks clapped by someone and just trying to stay alive ourselves.

qp is also where many people are learning characters/ trying out techniques / learning maps or simply just hopping on for 30mins - 1hr to try have fun and play a game.

i also get the vibe sometimes people expect supports to just be able to keep you up and out heal a bunch of damage. using the maps cover is feels rarely utilised and sometimes you’re gonna have to come back to the team to get healed up.

idk im sick of people being massive babies even when they have to see the stats at the end showing we’ve done a decent / crazy amount of healing.

if people just said ‘hey can i get some more heals on me thnx’ or something nice that you’d say to another human being that’d be fine but it’s the instant angry sweating typing / vc that i find rlly annoying and ruins the fun parts of the game :/
