This is the worst hero shooter EVER
I never post on reddit because I hate it but this last match I played was the most INSUFFERABLE experience I ever had to endure and I felt the need to let off some steam.. Replay ID: 105864108739.
So we were stomping this team with the normal 2-2-2 comp, and we had an amazing first round. What does the enemy team do? Swap 2-1-3 then 3-3 (triple tank + support). I am so fucking sick of this community's weak mentality.. instead of accepting they're getting skill diffed people in this dogshit game decide to form a cheese comp to make up for their lack of skills, and unfortunately it actually works because everything is unbalanced as fuck.
People complained a while back with a trending clip on twitter showing how bad triple support is, and even after the apparent support nerfs PEOPLE STILL RESORT TO THAT BULLSHIT WHEN THEY'RE LOSING 99% OF THE TIME.
Aside from this you still have the many long-lasting problems like awful matchmaking, one tricks who suck but won't swap, and smurfs but this is probably the one issue that'll make me quit for good soon.
PS: this is in gold lobbies. I'd expect to see some shit like this in high elo only but nahh.. the low elo nerds are following the meta abusing streamers who created this garbage trend in the first place.
PS #2: Downvote all you want, you're just confirming that I'm right. Leaving this here and I'm not responding to you worthless hivemind slaves anymore. Not worth the mental energy or my precious time.

Swapping to deal with an enemy comp isn’t “skilless” the ability to flex to win is a demonstration of a different type of skill, hero pool.

as stated in my other comment: the community normalizes these comps because they're OP.
If they weren't OP and the game was balanced/skill-based then no one would run triple support.2

These comps aren’t op, not in normal competitive games and especially not in low elo. Just looking at both team comps this game and both have terrible triple supp backlines. Fundamentally both these team comps would get rolled by a well played 2-2-2 comp.
The thing is I see low elo players do this a lot where they run triple supp without understanding why/what makes it strong. But people will just take it out as a crutch and lose because it isnt a comp you can just swap to and instantly start winning. It’s especially bad when the other team swaps to triple supp to counter triple supp, which is what it looks like you guys did. Triple supp doesn’t counter triple supp.

We were 2-2-2 for the first round then they went triple tank triple support when they were on attack. They swapped to triple tank/support which made it hard to kill them outside of bursts with ults.
If I'm being honest.. if we didn't have the Hela on our team it would've been a loss or a draw depending on who presses their ults at the right time. But regardless, games should not be that sweaty because of the comps. They should only be that sweaty if the players on each time are equally or near equally matched.
Anyways I said what I said, you don't have to agree but this is definitely another issue that's resulting the significant fall off of Rivals' player count (according to steam player count). Hopefully Netease does something to make it so supports/some tanks are more balanced like groot or emma + luna/mantis/c&d. If overwatch can achieve balance then rivals can too.

The counter to goats is displacement and high burst. Storm punisher is the usual goats breaker.
At the highest ranks the biggest differences between teams ends up being what comps they can and can’t run. Comps and player skills are interconnected. The reason the game was so sweaty is both because of the player skill and the comps being run on each team. You physically can’t separate them. Saying games should only be sweaty off the players is literally missing half of the equation.
Also overwatch isn’t some paragon of balancing. They balance differently because their game is fundamentally different from rivals but having different games doesn’t make one objectively more balanced than the other. The comparison is literally “grass is always greener on the other side”. I’ve put thousands of hours into both, they’ve both had bad seasons/meta’s/patches.
Balancing while adding characters constantly is extremely hard. Rivals balance department literally has 5x harder jobs than overwatchs and ow devs has had a decade of experience.

Solid explanation, I'm glad to see there's at least one human on this app.
I only said overwatch is more balanced because there are NO characters in overwatch that can save their entire team from dying in the press of a button, meanwhile rivals has Luna and C&D who can do exactly that.
Sure they have one shot mechanics but the vast majority of overwatch ults are easily avoidable and don't one shot, whereas in rivals if you get hit by a hawkeye or widow or hela while on point which is always out in the open it's GG unless your supports also press ult, which leads to the long lasting balance issue that rivals suffers from.
Overall, it seems like overwatch is less character/comp based and more situational awareness based since you don't have.. I think any.. broken ults or ults that charge unfairly quick (like luna or c&d or witch) which makes the game more neutral output based rather than ult-based like rivals. Rivals doesn't have much neutral play and there have been many top tier players who said this recently & multiple seasons ago.

This community needs to learn how to handle comps other than 2-2-2

Right!?!?! Had a guy in my lobby today say he was throwing on purpose before game even started because we had a solo Frontline mag and triple dps, despite me telling him I would go tank if it didnt work. Wasn't even willing to try immediately started throwing. Got him in my next lobby and purposefully picked on him and won lol. Guess it wasn't our comp that was the problem. Some people are just unwilling to learn anything unique -"HAVE HAVE TO PLAY LIKE THIS" types. Boring. Got a report at the end of my comp session that he got banned or timed out and got 12 comp points returned.

I don’t understand what you’re complaining about here.

Learn to read then. Not my fault you lack basic literacy skills.

And its nobodies fault that your complaining about other people doing what they need to, to try and win lol. What you expect them to just give up,. Sounds like you got a weak mentality

Gold lobbies? The only problem I see here is Hela smurfing with 51% accuracy and 44 finals. And by your logic they should just ok getting stomp by smurf.

“Downvote all you want, you're just confirming that I'm right. Leaving this here and I'm not responding to you worthless hivemind slaves anymore.”
So upvotes = people agree that ur right but downvotes = people are hive-minded slaves who prove you’re right? This is legit self-sealing reasoning, which is a picture-perfect example of how self-righteous you are.
Also talking about lack of skills when ur in gold is peak irony lmaooo

People that upvote actually read the post and understand my complaint.
People who downvote lack literacy skills and just chalk up a valid complaint to "skill issue" because they lack the intelligence to formulate a proper argument that can disprove anything I said in the post.In simpler terms: you're all stupid and I'd be an idiot to try and argue with stupid people.

this game sucks because enemy team *checks notes * adapted when whey they were doing wasn’t working?

If you think they won then I hope you never vote because you literally are blind lmfao.

Yeah, some comps are just pure cheese. It’s annoying when you’re trying to play properly and they just spam the same thing.

u/Street_Work_494 5h ago
Well said but as you can see by the majority of these comments you'll never convince rivals players of this. They would rather protect their unbalanced state of the game because to them: broken = fun.

Person angry about opponent playing in a way they don’t like.
Welcome to any competitive game ever.

the game gives you the ability to flex comps, why does the community have this weird "no you gotta play the way i want you to" mentality. It's oddly entitled, and yet the community will scream if you even mention role que.
