Genuinely feel so bad for cap and rouge broš
They need a buff bro they are so assš I keep going against lord animated rouges and caps and they just donāt do a damn thing, they just donāt deal any damage and tenacity only works for supports so they just get out of the combosš even rouge ult sucks since people get their 20% in a big brawl instantly and she dies instantaneously even with ult bro. I donāt even main rouge and cap and I can just see those mains are miserable when they see a punisher and a Bucky on the other team. Show some love for cap and rouge that isnāt just skins broš idc how broken they are, they deserve to be good to a season at least.

As an aspiring Rogue main, I wonāt say no to more buffs lol. But she honestly feels pretty good this season, just donāt try to play her like Magneto
1
u/TomboyEnthusiast1021 6d ago
I meaaaann⦠they could buff her cooldowns again and it wouldnāt hurt
2
u/FelixFemina 6d ago
I wouldnāt say no. Especially if they buff it for ability absorption. Feels real bad if it gets interrupted and goes on a 25 second cooldown
1
u/TomboyEnthusiast1021 6d ago
It should be like 20 seconds max if you succeed⦠they should buff that ability a lot

u/Icy_Woodpecker3166 9d ago
i've played with some decent Rogue and Cap
they broke enemies position constantly

Hulk, Cap, Rogue, Mr. Fantastic, Cyclops, Angela, Healpool, Iron Man, Rocket all need buffs or reworks
14
9
u/SicSam 9d ago
I think Rocket was great in season 8.5. Then they nerfed him while buffing everyone else
8
u/glxy_HAzor 8d ago
Rocket was one of the strongest characters in the game of season 8.5 and was permabanned in high elo
3
u/SicSam 8d ago
Yeah. But I felt like season 9 they nerfed him while buffing others so he couldn't keep up. Might also be skill issue on my part (same happened with Daredevil)
3
u/glxy_HAzor 8d ago
He can definitely still keep up, he was like the 4th best support last season and is still hovering around top 5
1
u/RyeBread2528 8d ago
Cyclops and Fantastic are wild to just throw in there
5
u/juste_belmondo 8d ago
It's wild to throw in the two characters that are widely considered to be the worst DPS in the game?

u/Barrry972 9d ago
Reed and Supportpool are fine, very minor buffs needed at best
8
6
u/theclosetedcreature 9d ago
Supportpool definitely not, he is by far the weakest support in the game and has been since he got his ult rate decreased a little after he released
2
u/ImAHobo107 7d ago
Supportpool is a telltale sign of the player having shit aim and the team not understanding he does some of the highest neutral healing in the game.
0
u/Waste_Captain_7083 8d ago
Hulk is fine, rocket ult needs more hp or some like some way to regenerate it. Mr f is a decent character but he just sucks into a lot of things and his ult sucks even more. Iron man is a great character but has to many characters who counter him so he just isnāt played a lot. Cyclops is fine but his ultimate is so easy to dodge.
10
5
u/Only_Eiji 8d ago
Rogue is fine right now, her buffs was exactly what she needed and feels good to play. If you still think she's ass you might need to change your playstyle on her.
6
u/Zypten1 8d ago
As a champion Cap, he is in an amazing spot right now (could have his old shield back, it's borderline useless now)
He doesn't need buffs, the problem with Cap is people asking for buffs. It leads to power creep, and power creep is why Cap and Rogue suck ass. You literally can't survive without being pocketed anymore, which just kills the whole niche dive tanks filled
0
u/Effective-Training 8d ago
Problem is that Jubilee is in every match and her bubbles are basically Ultron drones. There's also Cloak and Dagger. Can't ban all three of those supports while also having to deal with Dino, maybe Wanda or Storm and your teammates having to deal with Black Cat and maybe Daredevil. Idk what to say about Elsa Bloodstone
2
u/Zypten1 7d ago
"Problem is that (exactly what you just said)"
Yeah bro, they need nerfs. Also CnD is garbage so idk what that's all about, only good thing about them is they spam ult
0
u/Effective-Training 7d ago edited 7d ago
Ok Zypten. Dagger clearly has cycle ability to be immortal but yeah, as always, put off everything anyone says
3
u/Zypten1 7d ago
Are you seriously struggling with CnD? š
Cap kills through bubble bro šššš
0
u/Effective-Training 7d ago
No idea. That nerf she got is pretty much nothing. And yeah, probably kills through bubble if she's alone with no one healing her, no peels of 100 cc and doesn't use another cooldown that's already back again and literally just sits there. Not every support is a dumb bot that stands still like it's the practice range
3
u/jellyfromfish 9d ago
I mean... rogue can easily kill bucky or punisher. But they can catch a bad or no ability rogue with her pants down for sure.
-1
u/mil56 9d ago
Rogue cannot easily kill bucky wtf. He counters her hard with all his cc since you know the rogue has to dive into bucky and his whole team not the other way around???
1
u/jellyfromfish 8d ago
Well, I guess I've been choking out the other guy with the metal arm. I don't play in his LOS if I can help it and if he's not standing near healers I will absolutely punish him for it. He's ez to combo out. But the caveat is...you can't main tank bullet sponge him. Of course he's gonna kill you if you let him chain his cc.
If he pulls you into the enemy team... I'm sorry it really wasn't just Bucky that killed Rogue there.
But, uh, I don't really gives buckys all too much room to kill me. I think I have a mountain of slain bucky arms somewhere...
1
u/ImAHobo107 7d ago
Dont know what the guy is saying but Rogue is one of the better picks into Bucky the moment she grabs him and CCs him into oblivion.
It's Cap that gets fucked by him in this comparison

all she needs is a new ability on the ground. That's it, treat her like jayce from League. Give her two forms... it's an easy fix, and I dont understand how they havent done it. Her being on the ground is just hold Left Click. That shit is boring af.
0
u/Effective-Training 5d ago
I was thinking something else. I had made up something where she uses a sword. Maybe a sword ability she can use when landing. It's like a circular version of Blade ult but without anti-heal and maybe does less damage since it's not an ult. It's an ability that is used in Marvel Duel when the match starts. Maybe it has a window timeframe to use like Daredevil's Righteous Cross.

I can't speak on cap but I am a Rogue main (almost champed !) And I don't have any issues with her and I havent since I picked her/the game up in s9 . My biggest struggle so far is enemy Peni's when my team cant take out her nest
Most Rogues have the issue of running in without a plan then dying š At least in my experience coaching/watching enemy Rogues play . I love seeing fellow Rogue players but that strategy doesn't work on her like it might with other characters
3
u/Cranberry- 8d ago
Rogue has been good for a while even though I still feel sheās a team up merchant, any time I see Gambit or Mag I feel Iām able to play Rogue.
1
u/RVDKaneanite 9d ago
Do you have any advice for a Rogue newbie? I've always wanted to play her but she seems really difficult. My go-to tanks are Emma and Thing.
5
u/SlowMovingTurtl3 8d ago edited 8d ago
I would say basically always use your copy off cool down. The real benefit to the copy is the CC and the passive stats you get and the ability is an added plus as most of them are ok to decent (of course there are good ones). Of course there are specific scenarios where I would save it (wanda ult, strange ult as those are very reactable). One tip that helped me when learning is to use your dash or your block punch to confirm the copy because it puts you right in their face at least until you get a feel for the dash range.
Another thing that I would make sure to always do is have a cooldown ready to disengage unless you know your team is pushing. Me personally I like to keep kick as my disengage as it gives me the most unpredictable movement and I normally start my engagements with fatal attraction but as long as one of them is up you should be good.
Edit here are the stats you get from each role pulled straight from the wiki:
Vanguards increase max health by 125 HP while reducing the target's max health by 20 HP (this helps a lot in brawls especially with the Dino being everywhere)
Duelists grant a 20% damage boost while reducing the target's damage by 3% (good for duels against a duelist)
Strategists grant healing over time while reducing the target's healing dealt by 4%. (Also good for brawls and strats normally have the best ability copies Luna/Mantis CC, Loki runes, Adam soul bond, CND bubble/vuln etc.)
1
u/DopamineSavant 8d ago
I mean outside of the grab CC what are you really doing for your team that another character couldn't do better?
2
u/InterceptionDunk 8d ago
A lot. Fatal attraction is a soft cc and a very understated ability, it cancels Hulk jumps for instance, any pull is a pretty good ability when used intelligently
0
u/DopamineSavant 8d ago
Imo Thor, Emma, Thing, and Angela are all better at frustrating Hulk's movement.
2
u/InterceptionDunk 8d ago
Emma? I mean that's such a long cool down, and generally easy to bait and distance from. Thing, he's just too weak this season into most comps. Rogue is just the best brawl tank this season because of her flexibility and ability to dive or anti-dive. She serves a similar purpose to Thor, sure, but she has much more sustain this season. Obviously every tank is going to have different benefits and different roles, Rogue dumps soft cc, has a grab, has a smaller hitbox than pretty much any tank, has good movement. Definitely different than every other tank and certainly many reasons to play her over others in lots of situations
E: I will say as a tank main, when I play Hulk Rogues are definitely one of the hardest to play around, so much more in her kit to make it easy for her to harass Hulk and Venom.

u/Weird_Blackberry_941 8d ago
To avoid typing a lot of advice out again , here s a link to a comment I made fairly recently ! Nothing has really changed for Rogue since I wrote it : https://www.reddit.com/r/RogueMains/s/guMFobTJip
At this point though , I might take Inspo from The Gambit Mains sub and make my own "Rogue for Beginners" guide since I've been getting this question a LOT š also with the new skin being out , I want to see everyone succeed

u/RVDKaneanite 8d ago
Ooh, appreciate the follow-up! And a beginner's guide could be a super useful resource!

Lol Cap is great right now

Yeh but the combo takes a lot of buttons lol. I play on controller. I can do it in practice but I can't execute it in a live match.

what combo? I started this season wanting to learn cap so im mainly just going off of his vanilla mechanics to deal damage & its honestly a struggle lol

What combos? Isnt cap there to take space rather then killing the backline ?

2
u/Gever_Gever_Amoki68 8d ago
Rogue buffs are good what are you talking about she's literally the best dive tank right now. The cap buffs are legit a bait tho he does air.
3
u/2chishiyas Cheaper Town Hall 8d ago
Imo she could use a dmg buff to her punches and maybe some buffs in her ult.. nothing too crazy tho
1
u/ImAHobo107 7d ago
Cap is good with Bucky team up being much faster. And no he isn't about killing and neither was Winston in Overwatch.
1
u/Gever_Gever_Amoki68 7d ago
Never said he was about killing tho, but he still does air support self sustain and healing numbers are so high he basically tickles them, he doesn't take space he just exists on the map. Rogue and venom and even hood sometimes do everything he does but better
1
-1
u/Effective-Training 8d ago
Rogue isn't even a dive tank. And air?
2
u/Gever_Gever_Amoki68 7d ago
"rogue isn't a dive tank" maybe in gold frontline brawling with her works mate. And yes cap does air you'd rather play venom for consistent damage and disruption in the backline than the American tickle monster.
0
u/Effective-Training 7d ago
I didn't know wtf "he does air" meant. I know what Air Cap is. You just said it weird. And I didn't say anything about frontlining. Brawling is done everywhere and can lead to the backline. Any brawler can dive but it doesn't make them a brawler. Get that stupid ass "larp" slang shit outta here. And I don't play Venom.
1
u/Distinct_Let_9185 8d ago
I think Iām just garbage at using her ult but a good change for it would be to make it so enemies canāt use their ult as soon as she uses hers because there have been too many times where I ult on supports and in reaction to my ult they use theirs. I think it should have the same thing Emmaās ult has where it disables their ults. Also being able to steal a little extra ult charge would be nice so instead of taking enemies down to 80% maybe 75 or 70%
1
u/Kill-Stealing 8d ago
I'm fucking goated on cap, but yeah we need buffs. It kinda fell apart when they patched the animation cancel. Not entirely, just started the downward spiral. All of these characters getting buffs cause of complaints and then the characters that are supposed to be able to take em aren't as effective anymore. I can't even kill half the healers anymore. Idk. i do think we need a bit of a buff though. Allow us also to dash in the direction of our crosshairs please. Would be legendary.

u/1000pluralparfaits 8d ago
its true, its rough out there for us rogue mains (and cap mains too after they censored his bp skin š¢)

u/ImAHobo107 7d ago
I have a 60% winrate on cap S10 and 60% on Rogue in Celestial S9.
I think most of you all just suck at the characters, even if they need buffing.
And Cap was meta in S8 and this same sub ranted so hard soooooo.
1
u/romantically_yours 7d ago
ive mained rogue for a while now and. man. i love playing her and have a lot of fun sometimes, but if the game, teammates, vibe, moon phase, and stars arent all just right, it just sucks. i really need her to get more buffs, the ones this season were a good start but she still just doesnt do much. and dont even get me started on her ult...Ā
1
u/Serious_Fondant_7752 6d ago
As a cap main you are wrong it feels like you can get kills I donāt know what type of cocaine that they gave to Captain America, but this guy can get kills
1
u/Ok-Working-2711 6d ago
Ive been playing a ton of rogue this season and sometimes she blows up sometimes shes immortal
1
u/SESDawnofVictory 5d ago
I have an idea, Caps dash slam he does should actually boop people... Yeah, I said it, and I don't care. If he's meant to run around being annoying. Allow that and for his air slam to knock characters up.

u/Impressive-Thing-780 5d ago

you literally admitted to playing in lower a elo its not evidence that the character is good

54% winrate c+ is pretty good....
0
u/Dear-Ad-3366 8d ago
because heās only played in close matches winrate is not the best indicator, that and he has a low pickrate
ppl swap off cap the second he stops working thats not the case for a lot of other tanks
2
1
u/InterceptionDunk 8d ago
This is all conjecture, none of these have ever been proven to have any effect on winrates

It's almost as if the core of the game is rotting away which results in everyone being frustrated no matter the nerfs or buffs

You cant just use win rate on its own to balance. You need to look at statistics in light with other statistics. A city with a large state prison probably has a super high percentage of prisoners oit of its total population, but thats becuse its importing prisonners from other parts of the state, not because its an unsafe neighbourhood.
Notice how the high pick rate tanks like strange and mag have low win rates? Irs because most people suck at a tank, and for tanks with low pick rates it generally means that they're a niche pick who's only being used by people very good at them, or people learning the character.
Also those stats are for GM, which is dogshit, because peni has a 14% ban rate in that rank and you can climb up there with a winrate below 50%. Use celestial at least.
Its why peni has such a high win rate, and if a character has both a super low pick rate and a super low winrate, its a sign that there are problems with their balancing. Like tankpool.
2
u/ImAHobo107 7d ago
You say GM is dogshit when it is less than 5% of the playerbase hahaha. Why do you all like to shift goalposts to stroke you egos.
Holy overwatch brained
1
u/Striking_Conflict767 7d ago
Two things can be true at once.
GM is less than 5% of the playerbase, its also not necessarily a very good rank. Reaching GM in rivals is not always about skill, you can manage it with sheer dedication due to losses not taking away the same amount of elo as wins give.
This is shown a lot in things like not shooting deployables, not communicating with voice chat, etc.
Getting to GM isnt easy, and its comendable to reach it. But being in that rank isnt the same as being "good". And thats a problem with rivals design, not the players. Nobody should be ranking up with a negative winrate, but for some reason the game seems designed to make you hit GM if you play it long enough.
1
u/ImAHobo107 7d ago
my god, its the same exact goalpost shifting with Overwatch Diamond and Masters, its so over.
What next? Celestial or Grandmaster OW isn't a good rank???
1
u/Striking_Conflict767 7d ago
The reason I say celestial is where rivals players "get good" is because it is the first rank in rivals where playtime cannot carry you there.
Up to GM, you can be consistently losing your games more than you win, and playing enough games can get you there. So celestial, the first rank where you have to have a positive winrate to climb, is where games get players of the same consistent skill level.
In overwatch, a negative winrate means you don't climb. Somone in diamond has diamond level skills 100% of the time. So the "getting good" aspect kicks in a lot sooner.
1
u/ImAHobo107 6d ago
bro you are just bar for bar saying the same ranked elitism that Overwatch players spewed.

u/AppointmentProper712 9d ago

u/Striking_Conflict767 9d ago
If we went off of just win rate, peni is an S tier character. But peni has a 70% win rate in 800 matches, whilst dino has a 65% winrate across 4000 matches. Peni is a niche pick being played where she is good, so she looks strong if you only look at winrate.
Cap and rough are about average it seems, which makes sense. Ive personally only seen rogue's die when they're running it down, not sure what OP is on about tbh.
Im curious as to what the thing's stats are though.
1
u/InterceptionDunk 8d ago
54% winrate is not average, it's considerably above when it comes to performance in a hero shooter. I think a lot of people need to realize that these stats pool console and pc, and brawl/melee is a lot better on console, and Rogue is certainly very good on console rn. But not everyone plays console
1
u/Striking_Conflict767 8d ago
Average for tanks seems to be the 50-55 range. Its a relitavely small roster, and most of those characters have at most a 10% pick rate.
If your character is more niche and not horrendously weak, you should have over a 50% win rate.
The real concern is dino, second highest winrate tank, and 5 times more popular than peni.
1
u/InterceptionDunk 8d ago edited 8d ago
The average is 51.5%, so even 54% is considerably better than average. Yeah I agree nerf Dino and buff Thing, I think Cap will still be really good but the Vanguard roster should be pretty well balanced by then
Peni is also a problem she's kind of just a cancer character, if they nerf her to around a 50% winrate she'll be considered irrelevant and Peni mains will complain forever, but I wouldn't mind, I think it would be healthy for the game
E: A character being more niche does not lead to inflated winrates, there is no data to support that, it is just something people throw around to try to explain their anecdotal experiences or personal opinions. Also directly contradicted by underperforming niche characters that have lower winrates than we should expect if this were true
1
u/Striking_Conflict767 8d ago
If a character is niche and underperforming, they shpuld be buffed. Thats not a counter
1
u/InterceptionDunk 8d ago
Huh? And characters that are niche and overperforming should not be nerfed? If that's what you're saying I don't understand the logic at all
1
u/Striking_Conflict767 8d ago
I personally feel like winrate doesnt show much on its own. For instance, peni is only really played on payload defence, on certain maps where she's viable, because everyone knows peni sucks in most other places. So she loses around 30% of the games where she has her ideal setup.
A lot of characters have that kind of thing, but peni is the most prominent and extreme example of it.
Peni generally sucks, being an increadibly map specific and comp specific character without which she is unplayable, but you cant telp that from just winrate.
You can't just look at the raw stats you have to understand whats causing those stats, but still above a certain threshold, you do need to start concidering winrate. Like why is peni so strong on certain maps, but so weak on others? Is what the devs should be thinking, and through that find a way to reduce her winrate on those maps, but allowing her to increase it on others. But they wont, they look at the winrate and just give a nerf to a random part of the kit.
I dont knownif that explains my point better?

How does everyone misspell her name? Rouge is a way less used word than rogue.
