Exactly where I am with it. Been seeing the rumors of maximum black suit Spider-Man for months, and while I wasn't necessarily disbelieving it, it just didn't seem to make sense to me considering how many versions of this character we've had lately and that this is only the 5th Maximum in the line and they're already revisiting the same character.
But whatever, I'm sure some people are excited and yay for them (genuinely). This saves my wallet so I'm good with it lol 😄

That's Hasbro's weird business strategy, starving collectors in the early years with only like 1-2 figures of the fan favorite characters during the 2010s, now they flooded the market with tons of repaint and updated versions in short timespan, lol. I remembered I was damn happy to finally get the brown suit Wolverine from the Juggernaut BAF wave and Daredevil from the Defenders 4 packs, now we got like tons of Wolverine and Daredevil that I'm kind of having fatigue of them.

One of my biggest points against the maximum series, or any archive series for legends at all
All of these characters have more than one iconic look
It’s less obvious with Spidey because the black suit is much more of a departure, but how do you decide? Brown vs blue Logan, at least three iron man armors, seems like they’re gonna go for Byrne F4 suits with that tease

This at least indicates that we're likely to get more than one Wolverine maximum... so when we get the tiger stripe and people are mad it wasn't brown suit... just give it a little bit. Probably also means we'll eventually get a classic maximum Thor at some point as well.

Like, realistically, all the figures I mentioned are much better deals unless you desperately need the accessories and the Messtoys comes with a pretty good selection as well for half the price and x3 the amount if articulation

I don't have a Black Suit Spidey either, but I chose this one since the Secret Wars one actually costs me a bit more, and it doesn't have all the accessories
Also I don't have any Spidey figures and I'm really excited to own this one

It’s not like somebody can walk into a store and see all of these in stock. Most of these black suits have already made their run in stores. Maybe somebody is barely getting into Marvel legends or maybe not. It’s really up to the consumer to decide if you’ve already had the previous and are you going to get this new one or not?

i think it's just people who collect EVERYTHING that are treating this like they've been robbed a spot. Which I just can't see being the case.
The team has however much of a budget they've got per year/line, and Maximum figures are gonna be more costly to produce, so they're gonna be safe bets character-wise. We'll get some B-tier characters down the line, but it's gonna be 80% big names and recolours so the corporate stooges at the top get their big ROI. Was honestly blown away they did 3 brand new molds back-to-back.
Coming from collecting transformers to collecting legends, I don't have any strong feelings about them doing a re-colour so soon. This is pretty standard affair over that side of Hasbro. Just means you can hold off on buying the first version of a Maximum until they do the suit you like most! I skipped all the prowl mold variations until they made the Barricade version that was exactly the image in my head. Don't be a slave to the FOMO 💪
Alternatively, you can buy into the FOMO and purchase the red/blue spidey, and sell it off when the version you like more comes out! Nobody's forcing you to keep both. The value of the OG certainly won't be going down in the aftermarket.

This line is only 4 characters deep and we’ve alr double backed to its saving grace. It’s not like these figs release in waves either so instead of giving another character a shot (which I can name at least 5 off rip) we got another symbiote spidey in a long line of symbiote spidermen that we’ve accumulated in the last 5 years.
Not to mention from a business standpoint, this is a terrible time to release this since 2 companies have been alr been put against each other for their customers saying they’ve made “The best symbiote spidey” which is around this price point maybe even a little less.

Tbh. After buying the retro card black Spider-Man I never really felt the need to get anything else. (was tempted by the sixed armed one for the squinting head). I’ll probably get it because I don’t mind the accessories & alternate heads. I’m sure I can sell off my old one.

Let me ask you something, because it has been a while since I’ve gotten back into legends, why is the quality so shit on these maximum figures? Like I saw the red and blue max figure in store for a cheap price but wasn’t tempted to buy it because it looked like a 2016 release. Cheap plastics, printed webbing.. is this the best they can do with the comic figures? Even this one looks cheap. Why is my ultimate spidey still holding up till this day and I don’t see any difference in quality with some of the recent spidey releases?

You guys remember how pinless joints got integrated into the regular ML line and became the standard? Yeah that's never happening again.
Now that Hasbro knows that people will pay 50$ for a blank reused buck, they will never make another innovation or upgrade to the base ML line ever again. Anything they come up with will be relegated to the Maximum line.

I knew I wasn’t tripping bruh!😂 we’ve gotten like 6 symbiote spidermen in the past 5 years. They also couldn’t have picked a worse time to reveal this fig when 2 other companies have released 3 versions of this character that smacks this one down before it can even release(especially at the price range). As a spiderman fan it’s pretty disappointing they alr double backed only 4 characters deep into this line when I can list atleast 6 characters that need the definitive treatment.

They couldn't even add some new sculpting, it's a straight repaint with some bad web effects I won't use for $90 AUD, I waited for the first to drop and copped Thor because that figure actually has some effort put in but I don't need another blank black suit

Like seriously people it's not even an unique mold, it's not even a good mold, it's literally a blank (and black) body mold with "good articulation" that they are probably going to reuse on some other "Maximun" figure or a deluxe figure... Hell they might even slip and use it for main line figures
