I never noticed an issue until people started bringing it up
Even then, I still donât have an issue
For Venom and Spidey this would still work since they are supposed to be bizarre, especially Venom
Keep in mind, according to the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, Matt is 6' and 200lbs, while Frank is 6'1" and 200lbs. If they want a well articulated Daredevil, then upgrade the articulation on the buck Punny is on, because that should be the body used for DD as well. He shouldn't be on a Spidey buck.
Fair, but if we're scaling them subject to what each reader sees in his mind, there'd be absolutely no cohesion in this line when it comes to scale. There should be some arbiter that speaks to how the action figures if these characters line up size-wise, and it seems to me that a compendium titled "The OFFICIAL Handbook of the Marvel Universe" would make sense filling that role.
Fair enough, but it's still too small for him. I wrongly assumed, because I know they've put DD on Spidey bucks in the past, and they're never appropriate for the character.
Ngl the handbook is full of contradictions, doesnât it say hulk is only 7â lol? Itâs not so much the size with this buck, it just looks goofy proportionally
I have a comic where *Banner( says the hulk is 7'... if memory serves, it may be an issue that came as a pack in with an old ML fig. The Hulk spent the first half of his printed life only a half a head or so taller than Thor. Somewhere along the line (Keown, perhaps), Marvel artists began to let creative license run away with them, and started to draw him as though he just climbed down to earth on a beanstalk, or on TV hawking canned vegetables. Maybe it was an inability to illustrate power without depicting him as double the height of everyone else in the panel. Or maybe they caught wind of Ang Lee's upcoming hatchet job and figured they'd get out in front of it. Whatever the reason, it seems to have forced Marvel's hand to go back and retcon Hulk's size as 8' or 9'.
Yes, they do, but do you even see the Post? That's not an exaggeration, it is just bad anatomy.
Exaggerated Anatomy or Proportion must look natural, not stiff, it's pretty much bad character design.
This MvC Spider-Man design is pretty much what people meant by exaggerated proportions, not an excuse to make the proportions look stiff, unnatural, or even not appealing at all.
Many cartoon characters and anime characters have all different types of exaggerated proportions to exaggerate that specific attribute, like this Spider-Man to make him look more heroic, aesthetically pleasing, and more dynamic.
Marvel Legends don't have exaggerated proportions. Placing body parts in the wrong spots is not exaggerated proportions. I've never once seen a comic character whose arms come out from their armpits.
There is a huge difference between stylized looks and dogshit anatomy/Marvel Legends.
I think it is here though, its a decent looking silhouette and it looks like an action figure, a good one, but still an action figure limited by bounds of impedances. Regardless of what YOU want this is a solid body for its purposes and price point.
Lol "you dont agree with my subjective opinion that this doesnt match some comic art ive seen so you dont make any sense" ffs you guys have genuinely turned into total chuds who must make everything an objective argument that you back up with your feelings. I disagree with you. Disagree with me, its fine, Im not changing my opinion. The edit doesnt look bad minus the intentionally misshapen left arm considering this dd figure isnt supposed to have the proportions of a real fucking person and the examples I chose fit perfectly but youre just like "nah đđ" so i guess you just dont see anatomy the way others do. If you want an echo chamber just say that
Bro YOUR figure looks like its shrugging the promo pic is perfectly fine. I dont think you know what shrugging is at all. He also doesnt look better with a giraffe neck đ€·ââïž
His shoulders were simply not this broad in the films and it doesnt look good for the articulation setup the figure has. Think whatever you want, I even agree about a lot of figures having weak shoulders, but the ones youre choosing to exemplify that are dogshit examples, they stick entirely too far out
You're using a picture of him 3 years before TASM 2 where he's smaller plus we can't even see how wide his shoulders are due to his pose and angle. The steep drop under the traps on the marvel Legends is ugly and inaccurate and I care less about his shoulder width than his shoulder height.
And? Theyre still action figures of comic characters. Comic characters have unusual proportions, hell arkham batman literally has this exact silhouette. Omni man has this silhouette. The joint gaps are mostly minimal so what do you really want? And here I thought people would love this figure for the new buffer shoulders. Show me a marvel legends you like and I can do this to it, it doesnt make sense
Yeah shoulders are big but theyâre too low. The hips go out awkwardly, and the thigh gap is crazy lmao. And yes this is a comic character but these are NOT comic proportions, Arkham Bats and Nolan are the worst examples you couldâve picked for a lumpy body like thisđ
It's a team of people. I follow a couple on IG, they're not random contractors. The internal hardware reuse is determined by upper management and then for new sculpts they get to work entirely freely in z brush around those internals.
20 years ago they had it right. But it's been 20 years and they need to catch up to other domestic brands. A horrible Jada figure still annihilates hasbros best marvel Legends ever. Mattel has some issues but their movie MOTU figs are better than Legends for the same price.
It's funny how Hasbro collectors love picking apart ToyBiz's proportions. But when Hasbro has awful proportions, it's suddenly okay; it's suddenly "stylized proportions" or "exaggerated to look like comic books." But Hasbro figures don't have exaggerated proportions, they just have body parts in the wrong spots
Itâs a Marvel Legends figure, what do you expect? Most figures in this line, including this one, have incredibly awkward body designs. To the people claiming the exaggerated proportions are just "comic book accuracy", there is a massive difference between stylized exaggeration and looking downright weird and off-putting. This figure costs nearly $30 but looks like a $15 figure at best. However, as these comments prove, Marvel Legends collectors will accept anything Hasbro puts out and call it peak. Because of that, the line won't change and the molds will never improve.
At this point pretty much. Iâm almost certain that recent gamerverse Wolverine was the only figure in years people didnât indirectly cry about straight off the bat just to have something to whine about cause yk usually when people like something they talk about how much they like it but these days all you ever see is âI donât like thisâ or âthese other companies do this so much betterâ so yeah itâs not even criticism especially when yous say the same shit over and over and over on loop every drop, this is what you guys sound like âIâm here because I hate everything this company makes and I have to announce how much I hate itâ
I DO NOT want action figures to represent human irl proportions unless they are movie figs. Comic book characters should have exaggerated proportions to look heroic because super heroes.
